Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CMM Operator role based in Coimbatore. The CMM Operator will be responsible for operating Coordinate Measuring Machines to perform precision measurements on components and finished products. Daily tasks include setting up and calibrating CMM equipment, loading parts, running inspection programs, and recording measurement data.

The role involves interpreting technical drawings and specifications, verifying dimensional accuracy, and identifying deviations from quality standards. The CMM Operator will collaborate with quality, production, and engineering teams to support root-cause analysis, improve measurement methods, and maintain documentation and reports.



The position also requires adherence to safety procedures and regular maintenance of inspection equipment.

Qualifications

- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), and technical specifications.
- Hands-on experience operating CMM equipment, including setting up fixtures, running inspection programs, and performing basic calibration.
- Knowledge of precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges) and general inspection methods.
- Familiarity with quality control practices, documentation of inspection results, and use of basic quality management systems.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify and report dimensional nonconformities.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, report generation, and use of measurement or CMM-related software.
- Ability to work on the shop floor, follow safety protocols, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant technical qualification or diploma in mechanical, production, or related field; prior experience as a CMM or quality inspection operator is preferred.
