Job Title: Climate-Tech & AgriTech Intern
Company: CarbonMint (Praanadhaara Agri Smart Solutions)
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana (with regional field visits)
Position Type: Internship (Full-time / In-person)
Duration: 3 to 6 months
Target Disciplines: Computer Science, Electronics & IoT, Agronomy, Agricultural Business Management, Data Science/GIS, or Environmental Sciences
About CarbonMintCarbonMint develops technology and services that enable farmers to cut cultivation costs, overcome acute labor shortages, boost crop productivity, and transition into climate-resilient practices. Operating at the confluence of digital technology, field-level mechanization, IoT hardware, and environmental data, we engineer tools—such as our proprietary AgriOS platform—to bridge the gap between rural agriculture and verifiable climate action.
Role OverviewAs a Climate-Tech & AgriTech Intern, you will not be relegated to theoretical exercises. You will engage in hands-on problem solving across software, hardware, agronomy, and digital MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification). Depending on your discipline and aptitude, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in Hyderabad and directly in the field, helping take climate solutions from R&D; directly into farmer adoption.
Core Tracks & Key ResponsibilitiesInterns are mapped to one or more operational tracks based on background and interest:
1. Software Engineering, GIS & Data Analytics
- Build, test, and enhance features across the AgriOS platform.
- Cleanse, structure, and analyze geospatial, satellite (remote sensing), and field-collected crop datasets.
- Build internal dashboards, automate data pipelines,
and conduct rigorous quality assurance on incoming farm metrics.
- Explore and experiment with predictive AI/ML models applied to agronomic health and yield estimates.
2. Electronics, IoT & Embedded Systems (R&D;)
- Assist in prototyping, calibration, and lab/field testing of agricultural IoT hardware and environmental sensors.
- Conduct field telemetry tests to evaluate battery life, connectivity, and sensor resilience under harsh weather conditions.
- Troubleshoot hardware firmware/interfaces and facilitate smooth data ingestion into AgriOS.
3. Agronomy & Field Operations
- Conduct field visits to interface directly with farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and village-level coordinators.
- Drive digital farmer onboarding, polygon mapping, and ground-truth data validation.
- Facilitate on-ground awareness and monitoring of regenerative practices, including Direct Seeded Rice (DSR), Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), and customized mechanization workflows.
4. Carbon Methodology & Digital MRV
- Assist with data compliance, carbon quantification workflows, and baseline verification protocols.
- Validate field implementation records to support digital verification pipelines.
- Organize technical project documentation aligning with carbon accounting standards and registry guidelines.
Candidate Profile & Eligibility
- Academic Background: Current students or recent graduates (B.Tech/B.E., B.Sc, M.Sc, or MBA) in:
- Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering
- Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or IoT
- Agriculture, Agronomy, or Agricultural Business Management (ABM)
- Data Science, Remote Sensing/GIS, or Environmental Sciences
- Mindset: Highly analytical, intellectually curious, and intrinsically motivated to learn by building.
- Execution: Comfortable alternating between a laptop desk workflow and on-the-ground rural field visits.
- Communication: Explicit, direct communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably with both technical teams and rural farming communities.
What You Will Gain
- Applied Industry Experience: First-hand exposure to the end-to-end lifecycle of climate-smart agriculture: Lab R&D; → Field Deployment → Farmer Adoption → Measurable Impact.
- Modern AgriTech Stack: Direct experience working with enterprise farm operating platforms (AgriOS), satellite analytics, and IoT hardware.
- High-Demand Domain Expertise: Practical foundation in carbon credit mechanisms, digital MRV workflows, and regenerative farm systems.
- Mentorship: Collaborative interaction with founders, engineers, and agronomists leading sustainable agriculture projects.
