Role Description This is a full time, on-site Civil Mechanical Engineer role based at the concrete sleeper manufacturing plant in Bengaluru. The role involves overseeing mechanical and civil engineering activities related to concrete sleeper production, including monitoring plant equipment performance, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting optimization of manufacturing processes. The engineer will review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and railway industry requirements.

Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with production and quality teams, troubleshooting mechanical issues, supporting installation and commissioning of machinery, and preparing technical reports and documentation. The role also requires participation in continuous improvement initiatives,



cost and efficiency analysis, and support for project planning and execution within the plant.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong core Mechanical Engineering knowledge, including fundamentals of materials, strength of components, and industrial machinery relevant to concrete sleeper manufacturing.
- Candidates should possess skills in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to develop, interpret, and modify equipment layouts, fixtures, and mechanical components for plant operations.
- Candidates should possess Project Management capabilities to plan tasks, coordinate with cross-functional teams, track timelines, and manage resources for maintenance and improvement projects.
- Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D;) skills to support process optimization, evaluate new technologies or methods, and contribute to product and equipment improvements.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial plants (railway or concrete products preferred), and familiarity with safety and quality standards.
- Additional beneficial skills include knowledge of concrete sleeper production processes, understanding of civil/structural aspects of sleeper design, proficiency in MS Office, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication and teamwork skills.
