Role Description The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is a full time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing the enterprise-wide risk framework of our AMC business vertical at Choice International Limited. The role involves identifying, assessing, and monitoring key risks, including credit, market, operational, and strategic risks, and ensuring robust policies, controls, and governance practices are in place. The CRO will lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies, set risk appetite and limits in alignment with the board and senior leadership, and provide regular risk reporting and insights to support decision-making.

Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing risk models and exposure reports,



coordinating with business heads and compliance teams, overseeing regulatory adherence, conducting stress testing and scenario analysis, and driving a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization. The role also includes engaging with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders, and recommending risk mitigation actions to safeguard the organization’s financial soundness and reputation.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Enterprise Risk Management, with the ability to design and implement comprehensive risk frameworks across diversified financial services.
- Proficiency in Credit Risk Management, including assessment of lending portfolios, underwriting standards, and portfolio performance monitoring.
- Deep understanding of Market Risk, covering traded and investment books, market volatility, liquidity risk, and related measurement methodologies.
- Advanced Finance and Analytical Skills to interpret complex financial data, develop risk models, perform stress testing, and support strategic decisions.
- Extensive experience (typically 12+ years) in risk leadership roles within financial services, preferably across multiple business lines such as broking, NBFC, asset management, or investment banking.
- Relevant academic background, such as a postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) are an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership and boards, influence risk culture, and communicate complex risk issues clearly and objectively.
