About the Incubation Centre

IIT Jammu has been entrusted by the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, with establishing and operating an Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven start-ups in the J&K; region and adjacent areas, providing a platform for youth and innovation-oriented groups. A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in the form of a Section-8 Company (AIC- IIT Jammu) has been established to implement the objectives of the AIC under the guidance of its Governing Board.

AIC-IIT Jammu now invites applications from dynamic, visionary leaders for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the incubation centre and build a world-class innovation ecosystem.

Position Details

Key Responsibilities

The CEO will serve as the administrative and strategic head of the incubation centre, responsible for:

- Strategic Leadership: Provide vision, direction, and operational insight to transform the AIC into a sustainable, high-impact innovation hub.
- Program Design & Execution: Design and implement incubation, acceleration, and outreach programs aligned with AIM objectives.
- Start-up Portfolio Management: Identify, mentor,



and scale high-potential startups, particularly in deep-tech, climate-tech, and social innovation.
- Ecosystem Development: Build partnerships with academia, industry, investors, CSR organisations, and government bodies to strengthen the startup.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to AIM guidelines, MoA obligations, PFMS protocols, GFR 2017, and timely submission of progress reports and utilisation certificates.
- Financial & HR Management: Oversee budgeting, grant utilisation, fundraising, and team recruitment/capacity building.
- Resource Mobilisation: Pursue sustainability through CSR partnerships, grants, revenue generation, and international collaborations.

Eligibility Criteria

Desirable Qualifications

- First-class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Master’s degree in Science/Management/Computer Applications (or equivalent) from a reputed institution.
- MBA/PGDM with specialisation in Business Management/Strategy/Entrepreneurship is highly preferred.

Desirable Experience

- Minimum 8–10 years of overall skilled experience, with at least 5 years in start-up founding and incubation, innovation management, entrepreneurship development, or technology commercialisation.
- Proven track record in managing government/CSR-funded innovation programs, grant administration, and startup investments.




- Experience working in IITs/IIMs/NITs/reputed research institutions or leading innovation ecosystems is desirable.

Key Competencies

- Strong understanding of the Indian and global startup ecosystems, venture capital, and early-stage investing.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and institutional governance capabilities.
