Job Overview

Our client is looking for a Category Specialist to join their Merchandising team and help keep their Baby category running smoothly.

In this role, you’ll work closely with vendors, inventory, warehouse, and internal teams to make sure products are ordered, tracked, received, priced, and listed accurately. You’ll also help maintain important data and reports and make sure any issues are identified and addressed quickly.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

- Communicate with vendors about orders, shipments, inventory, and follow-ups.
- Create, send, and track purchase orders.
- Monitor incoming inventory and make sure shipments arrive on time.
- Coordinate with warehouse and transportation teams.
- Track and resolve issues such as missing, delayed, or incorrect shipments.
- Keep product, pricing, vendor, and inventory information accurate.
- Assist with product listings, pricing updates, and promotions.
- Maintain spreadsheets, reports, and inventory tracking tools.




- Perform regular inventory and data checks.
- Identify potential issues and communicate them to the Category Manager.
- Support the Merchandising team with day-to-day category operations.

Requirements

- 1–2 years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, purchasing, inventory, operations, or a similar role.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience working with spreadsheets and/or inventory, ERP, or order-management systems.
- Comfortable working with data and following established processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
- Availability to overlap with the team’s core working hours for vendor communication and follow-ups.
