Role Description This is a full time, on-site Category Manager role based in Kota.

The Category

Manager will oversee specific product and service categories related to Motion’s educational offerings, including planning assortments, monitoring performance, and optimizing pricing and margins.

Responsibilities include analyzing sales and student demand trends, developing category strategies, and collaborating with procurement, sales, academics, and marketing teams to ensure the right offerings are available at the right time.



The role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely procurement of learning materials and services.

The Category

Manager will also track KPIs, prepare reports, and recommend improvements that strengthen Motion’s learning ecosystem and overall student value proposition.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Category Management and experience defining category strategy and assortments.
- Advanced Analytical Skills for data-driven decision-making, demand forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Proficiency in Procurement and Contract Negotiation to manage vendors, costs, and supply terms effectively.
- Sales experience, including collaboration with sales teams to drive category performance and revenue growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Kota and coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced education environment.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfort with using spreadsheets, ERP or procurement tools, and basic reporting dashboards.
- Previous experience in education, edtech, or retail categories is a plus.
