Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC machining programs using PowerMill and hyperMILL CAM software for complex milling applications.
- Create and modify 3D geometries, toolpaths, and machining strategies based on engineering drawings, models, and manufacturing requirements.
- Generate and perform toolpath post-processing for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, tooling strategies, and machining parameters to achieve required quality, accuracy, and productivity.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and technical specifications to develop effective machining processes.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to plan, develop, and implement efficient CNC machining processes.
- Optimize machining programs to improve cycle time, tool life, surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and overall machining efficiency.
- Conduct toolpath verification and simulation to identify and eliminate potential collisions, over-travel, gouging, and machining issues before production.
- Support production teams in resolving CNC programming, tooling, fixture, and machining-related issues.
- Develop and maintain standardized CAM programming practices, machining methodologies, and process documentation.
- Ensure CNC programs and machining processes comply with applicable industry standards,
quality requirements, and best practices.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, cutting tools, and materials used in turbine blade and precision component manufacturing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with PowerMill and hyperMILL CAM software.
- Valuable knowledge of 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling and complex machining strategies.
- Strong understanding of geometry creation, toolpath generation, toolpath optimization, and post-processing.
- Working knowledge of NX / Unigraphics (NX-UG) and CAD/CAM environments.
- Good understanding of cutting tools, fixtures, machining parameters, and tooling selection.
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes and precision manufacturing.
- Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes used in turbine blade production.
- Knowledge of turbine blade manufacturing requirements, industry standards, and machining best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
- Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
