Yes, this week is all for those who believe the pen is mightier than the sword, now more aptly called keyboard warriors. Some of these are rather close calls but I am sure a writer always has something at hand. And from my own experience, let me tell you, don't overthink it; send in your work! Let's go.

Submission Call for Issues 5 & 6

The Hooghly Review It's time to send your creative work to this free-access digital magazine of literature, culture and arts. The Hooghly Review is non-commercial in nature, and is funded by its founding editors; hence, it does not charge for submissions, nor does it pay for published work. The magazine has been enthusiastically publishing, supporting and celebrating their writers since 2022.

For Issue 5, the call is unthemed and you can submit all kinds of literary work. What to look for:

- Read all guidelines carefully before submitting.
- The work must be original, previously unpublished, plagiarism-free, and AI-free.
- Work shared exclusively on social media or personal blogs/websites (including Medium, Substack, etc.) is considered previously published and is not eligible for submission.
- Send no bios. Biographies will be requested upon acceptance.

Poetry submissions close on Aug. 15. All other submissions close on Aug. 31.

- Media Support

ARPO The Archival & Research Project is a non-profit started in 2021 to preserve and promote local heritage and culture. The team is hiring for a two-month internship and is looking to fill the role of Media Support team, among others. The work includes:

- Listening through interviews
- Creating transcripts and timestamps
- Writing metadata and descriptions

- I am starting a new little section here, where I recommend something I loved reading this week or something that I keep going back to. Hope this brings a little smile to your face. This week's pick is from The Marginalian (formerly Brain Pickings), an essay platform that I have been following for at least 10 years now, if not more. Built lovingly and single-handedly by Maria Popova since 2006, the platform is sheer, unadulterated joy. In Popova's words, it is "an exercise in marginalia on readings and reckonings, a discourse with these works of wonderment."
