Operate heavy-duty boring machines for machining rolls, roll shells, shafts, and other large rotating components used in industrial manufacturing.
Key responsibilities:
- Set up and align jobs on horizontal/heavy-duty boring machines
- Interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and dimensional requirements
- Perform boring and related machining operations on rolls, shafts, and heavy components
- Achieve dimensional accuracy using micrometers, dial bore gauges, and other precision instruments
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to meet targets and specifications
- Maintain machine safety, housekeeping, and basic operating records
Must-have: Hands-on experience with heavy-duty horizontal or conventional boring machines, preferably on rolls, shafts, roll shells, or other large/heavy components. ITI Machinist, Tool & Die, or CAD/CAM training is a plus, not mandatory.
