Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering
Job Summary
Kalyanam Karoti is looking for a responsible and technically skilled Biomedical Engineer to manage, maintain, calibrate and ensure the safe and efficient operation of biomedical equipment used across our hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The candidate will be responsible for equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration coordination, inventory management and vendor coordination to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, operate and maintain biomedical and medical equipment.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance (PM) of medical equipment as per schedule.
- Identify equipment faults and coordinate timely breakdown/repair services.
- Maintain complete records of equipment maintenance, service history and repairs.
- Coordinate with authorized vendors and service engineers for equipment servicing.
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Coordinate calibration of medical equipment through authorized agencies.
- Maintain an updated inventory of biomedical equipment, accessories and spare parts.
- Prepare and maintain equipment-wise service and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure equipment is properly tagged, documented and tracked.
- Support hospital departments in the safe and correct use of medical equipment.
- Conduct basic user training for staff whenever required.
- Verify newly purchased equipment during installation and commissioning.
- Assist in technical evaluation of biomedical equipment during procurement.
- Maintain AMC/CMC records and monitor contract expiry and renewal dates.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns affecting patient care.
- Prepare periodic reports related to equipment maintenance, breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of biomedical and medical equipment.
- Troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
- Good knowledge of electrical/electronic systems used in medical equipment.
- Equipment documentation and inventory management.
- Vendor and service-engineer coordination.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with hospital departments.

- Strong attention to safety, documentation and maintenance schedules.
Preferred Experience Experience with hospital/clinical equipment such as:

- Ophthalmic equipment
- Physiotherapy equipment
- Other medical and life-support equipment
Experience in hospital, eye hospital, rehabilitation centre or healthcare organization will be an added advantage.
Educational Qualification
Essential:
B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Experience:
1–3 years of relevant experience preferred. Freshers with strong technical knowledge and relevant internship/clinical exposure may also be considered.
