Required Skills

- 610 years of backend / platform / cloud engineering, with significant time in customer-facing or delivery-facing technical work.
- Deep, hands-on Azure expertise across:
- ARM, Resource Graph, and the Azure REST API surface — including designing API consumption at scale.
- Identity & access — service principals, managed identities, RBAC, Entra ID; multi-tenant boundaries.
- Azure Monitor and Log Analytics (non-trivial KQL), Activity Log.
- Cost Management, billing constructs, Reservations / Savings Plans.
- Core compute, storage, networking, and Key Vault.
- Strong programming skills (Python preferred) — able to build production tooling, not only review and advise.
- Proven track record running architecture / Well-Architected reviews and presenting to customer technical stakeholders.
- At least one IaC tool in production — Terraform preferred; Bicep / ARM templates acceptable.
- Solid debugging and operational judgment — comfortable owning production systems.

Preferred Skills

- FinOps principles or cloud cost-optimisation practice.
- Multi-tenant / multi-subscription Azure at scale; MCA / EA billing constructs.




- Exposure to AWS or GCP — useful for cross-cloud patterns and abstractions.
- Azure certifications (AZ-305 especially) — valued, but not a substitute for hands-on depth.
- Experience mentoring or technically leading small engineering teams.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tooling (Airflow, Argo Workflows, Temporal, or similar).
