Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Coach / Agile Coach to drive Agile transformation, strengthen Scrum practices, and improve delivery effectiveness across multiple engineering teams.

The Scrum Coach will work closely with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, Architects, QA, DevOps and business stakeholders to establish effective Agile practices, remove systemic impediments, improve team maturity and create a culture of continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience coaching multiple Scrum teams, resolving organisational impediments, improving delivery predictability, and establishing measurable Agile metrics.

Key Responsibilities Scrum & Agile Coaching

- Coach Scrum teams on Agile principles, Scrum values, roles, events and artefacts.
- Coach teams towards becoming self-organising, cross-functional and high-performing.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies effectively:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Scrum
- Sprint Review
- Sprint Retrospective
- Backlog Refinement

- Identify gaps in Scrum implementation and coach teams towards sustainable improvements.
- Help teams move beyond "ceremony-driven Agile" towards genuine Agile practices.
- Encourage empirical process control, transparency, inspection and adaptation.

Coaching Scrum Masters
- Mentor and coach Scrum Masters across multiple teams.
- Establish consistent Scrum practices and standards.
- Help Scrum Masters identify and remove organisational impediments.
- Develop Scrum Master capability through mentoring, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Coach Scrum Masters on facilitation, conflict resolution, stakeholder management and servant leadership.

Product Owner & Backlog Coaching
- Coach Product Owners on effective backlog management.
- Improve user-story quality, acceptance criteria and prioritisation.
- Establish healthy Product Backlog refinement practices.
- Coach Product Owners on value-based prioritisation.
- Improve collaboration between Product Owners, engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Help teams maintain a healthy and sufficiently refined product backlog.

Delivery & Predictability
- Improve sprint predictability and delivery reliability.
- Identify delivery risks and dependencies early.
- Establish effective planning and estimation practices.
- Analyse sprint performance and delivery trends.
- Help teams improve:
- Sprint commitment reliability
- Velocity stability
- Cycle time
- Lead time
- Throughput
- Defect leakage
- Release predictability

- Identify systemic causes of delivery delays and work with leadership to address them.

Agile Metrics & Reporting Establish meaningful Agile metrics and dashboards rather than focusing only on velocity.

Key metrics may include





- Sprint commitment vs. completion
- Velocity trends
- Cycle time
- Lead time
- Throughput
- Work-in-progress
- Defect trends
- Escaped defects
- Release predictability
- Blocked work
- Dependency ageing
- Team health
- Engineering quality metrics

Use data to identify trends and support evidence-based improvement. Cross-Team Collaboration
- Coach multiple Scrum teams working on interconnected products/platforms.
- Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies.
- Facilitate Scrum-of-Scrums or equivalent coordination forums where required.
- Improve collaboration between:

Business / Stakeholders

- Establish effective communication and dependency-management mechanisms.

Organisational Agile Transformation
- Support Agile transformation initiatives across the organisation.
- Identify organisational impediments affecting team productivity.
- Work with engineering and business leadership to remove systemic barriers.
- Promote Agile principles beyond individual Scrum teams.
- Help leadership understand and adopt servant leadership.
- Establish Agile standards, playbooks and governance frameworks.
- Support transformation from project-centric delivery to product-centric delivery.

Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate structured retrospectives and improvement initiatives.
- Identify recurring delivery problems and drive corrective actions.
- Establish continuous improvement backlogs.
- Track improvement initiatives through measurable outcomes.
- Encourage teams to experiment with new ways of working.
- Share Agile best practices across teams.

Engineering Excellence Work closely with Engineering and Technical leadership to promote:
- Definition of Done
- Definition of Ready
- Automated testing
- CI/CD
- Code quality
- Technical debt management
- Continuous integration
- Release readiness
- Production quality
- Shift-left quality practices

The Scrum Coach should help ensure that Agile adoption does not compromise engineering quality and technical excellence.

Stakeholder Management

- Coach teams on effective stakeholder communication.
- Facilitate discussions between engineering and business stakeholders.
- Manage expectations around delivery timelines and scope.
- Promote transparency around risks, dependencies and delivery commitments.
- Help resolve conflicts between Product, Engineering and other stakeholders.

Agile Frameworks & Methodologies Strong understanding and practical experience with:
- Scrum
- Kanban
- Lean
- Agile principles
- Scaled Agile concepts
- SAFe




- Large-scale Scrum / Nexus concepts
- Agile Release Planning
- Continuous Delivery
- DevOps practices

Experience with Protected, LeSS or other scaling frameworks is desirable. Required Technical / Tool Experience

Hands-on experience with Agile delivery tools such as:

- Jira
- Confluence
- Azure DevOps
- Rally
- Miro / Mural
- Agile dashboards and reporting tools

Ability to understand engineering metrics and work effectively with technical teams is essential.

Required Skills Must Have

- 8+ years of overall IT experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master / Agile Coach.
- Experience coaching multiple Scrum teams simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of Scrum framework and Agile principles.
- Proven experience improving team maturity and delivery predictability.
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills.
- Experience working with Product Owners and Engineering leadership.
- Experience handling cross-team dependencies and organisational impediments.
- Strong understanding of Agile metrics.
- Experience in enterprise-scale Agile environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Education

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline
