Role Purpose The Assistant Manager – Controls (Installation & Commissioning) is responsible for planning, leading and executing controls commissioning activities for turnkey end-of-line packaging automation projects including robotic palletizers, bagging systems, case erectors, case packers, conveyors and tyre handling systems. The role provides technical leadership for PLC, HMI, robotics, motion control and industrial networking while managing commissioning teams and supporting service activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead controls commissioning and site execution activities.
- Plan manpower, commissioning schedules and technical resources.
- Validate PLC, HMI, safety PLC, servo drives, VFDs and industrial networks.
- Coordinate robot integration and production trials.
- Lead SAT, customer acceptance and performance tests.
- Support FAT issue closure and engineering modifications.
- Guide Controls Engineers and technicians.
- Review commissioning documentation and reports.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting during commissioning and warranty.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Design,



Software and Project teams.

Technical Competencies

- Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, Siemens TIA Portal or equivalent.
- EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP.
- Servo systems, VFDs and motion control.
- ABB/FANUC robot integration.
- Machine safety and Safety PLCs.
- Electrical drawings and EPLAN interpretation.

Leadership Responsibilities

- Mentor Controls Engineers.
- Lead customer technical discussions.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary site teams.
- Drive continuous improvement and commissioning standards.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering.
- 6+ years in industrial automation with end-of-line packaging experience.
- International travel readiness.
