Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Area Zonal Manager – Term Insurance to lead and drive business growth across Chennai.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Term Insurance / Life Insurance sales, large-team management, multi-layer team handling, business development, distribution, and sales strategy.

The candidate should have a strong understanding of the Chennai/Tamil Nadu insurance market and be capable of managing multiple Team Leaders and a large frontline sales team while consistently achieving business targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive Term Insurance / Life Insurance business across the assigned zone and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets.
- Manage and oversee 2–3 Team Leaders and their respective sales teams.
- Each Team Leader is expected to manage approximately 15–20 frontline sales members.
- Manage an overall team structure of approximately 30–60+ members through Team Leaders.
- Set explicit sales targets and performance expectations for Team Leaders and frontline sales teams.
- Monitor individual, Team Leader, and overall zonal-level performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and implement corrective action plans to improve productivity and target achievement.
- Coach and mentor Team Leaders to improve conversion, productivity, revenue, and overall team performance.
- Drive recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management across the sales hierarchy.
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to increase revenue, market penetration, productivity, and business growth.
- Expand and strengthen distribution channels across Chennai and the assigned territory.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, customers,



and key stakeholders.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and regional opportunities to identify business growth opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, sales processes, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Take complete ownership of business performance, team productivity, and revenue growth across the assigned zone.

Team Size & Leadership Requirement:

This is a large-team management role. Candidates must have prior experience managing a multi-layer sales structure.

- Experience managing 2–3 or more Team Leaders.
- Experience managing an overall team size of approximately 30–60+ members.
- Team Leaders should have experience managing approximately 15–20 frontline sales members each.
- Strong experience in people management, performance management, coaching, and business delivery.

Mandatory Candidate Requirements

- Minimum 8 years of experience in Life Insurance / Term Insurance sales.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in team handling and people management.
- Proven experience managing large sales teams through multiple Team Leaders.
- Experience managing 2–3 or more Team Leaders will be strongly preferred.
- Experience managing an overall team size of approximately 30–60+ members.
- Strong understanding of Term Insurance / Life Insurance products, sales processes, and distribution models.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding business targets.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, business development, coaching, and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of the Chennai/Tamil Nadu insurance market.
- Telugu language proficiency is mandatory.
- Excellent English communication skills are mandatory.
- Candidates should be comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders in English.

We are looking for candidates with extensive experience in Term Insurance / Life Insurance sales who have successfully managed large sales teams through multiple Team Leaders.
