ABOUT THE ROLE

F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Architectural Drafter / Takeoff Specialist to support U.S. scaffolding and permitting projects.

You’ll review architectural and construction drawing sets, extract dimensions and quantities, perform takeoffs, compare issued drawings with field measurements, and produce clear PDF markups showing discrepancies that need to be addressed before permitting.

Prior scaffolding experience is NOT required. Training will be provided on scaffolding systems, Site Safety Plans, NYC permitting requirements, and project workflows.

What is required is strong experience reading construction drawings. This is not an entry-level role, and the training does not teach floor plans, elevations, sections, dimensions, or architectural symbols.

This is a full time, remote role open to candidates in India and the Philippines, working U.S. business hours.

IMPORTANT: The core skill in this role is interpreting and marking up drawings produced by others — not creating new drawings from scratch. You must be comfortable taking an issued drawing set, extracting measurements and quantities, comparing it against field information, and returning a clean markup that someone else can act on.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Review architectural drawings and Site Safety Plans for scaffolding projects
- Perform takeoffs for sidewalk sheds, pipe scaffolding, and related systems
- Extract dimensions, quantities, and elevations from construction documents
- Produce accurate PDF plan markups reflecting actual site conditions
- Compare issued drawings against measurements and information from field teams
- Identify discrepancies before drawings reach the permitting stage
- Incorporate field measurements and site observations into plan markups




- Coordinate revised markups with project teams and permit expediters
- Raise questions when drawings or field information are unclear or incomplete
- Manage multiple assigned drawings and projects independently

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Mid-level experience as an Architectural Drafter, CAD Drafter, Construction Drafter, Architectural Designer, or similar
- Strong architectural and construction plan-reading skills
- Ability to interpret floor plans, elevations, and sections
- Understanding of building layouts, dimensions, and architectural symbols
- Experience extracting measurements and quantities from drawing sets
- Experience reviewing or marking up drawings produced by others
- Strong PDF editing and plan-markup skills using Adobe Acrobat or similar tools
- Ability to identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Clear written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong organization and time-management skills

NICE TO HAVE

- AutoCAD experience
- Bluebeam Revu experience
- Revit or other architectural/construction drafting software
- Construction estimating or takeoff experience
- Scaffolding drafting or takeoff experience
- Site Safety Plan (SSP) experience
- Experience with temporary structures
- Knowledge of NYC scaffolding requirements or codes
- Experience with NYC construction drawings or permitting processes
