AI Data Product Designer / Developer
Location: Remote (India)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AI Data Product Designer/Developer with a strong background in pharmaceutical commercial data to design, build, and govern data products that power AI and analytics initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Snowflake (cloud data platform and engineering), Collibra (data governance and cataloging), and GitHub (version control and CI/CD for data/AI workflows), combined with domain knowledge of pharma commercial data sources, structures, and use cases. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, data governance, and AI product development, and is critical to ensuring our data products are trusted, discoverable, and ready to fuel AI use cases across sales, marketing, market access, and field operations.
This is a fully remote position open to candidates based in India, LATAM or Europe. Candidates must be able to maintain reasonable working-hour overlap with US Eastern / CET for collaboration and meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data products and pipelines within Snowflake, optimized for AI/ML consumption and analytics use cases.
- Define and implement data product architecture, including data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning within Snowflake.
- Partner with data governance teams to catalog, classify, and document data assets in Collibra, ensuring data lineage, quality rules, and business glossary terms are accurately maintained.
- Establish and enforce data governance standards (data quality, metadata management, access controls, lineage tracking) across data products.
- Use GitHub for version control, code review, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines to manage data product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and AI product managers to understand data requirements for AI/ML models and translate them into robust, reusable data products.
- Design and manage data products leveraging pharma commercial data sources, including sales/prescription data (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health,
Veeva), CRM data (Veeva CRM, Salesforce), managed markets/payer data, patient services, and field force effectiveness data.
- Support commercial analytics use cases such as sales force sizing/alignment, targeting and segmentation, market share analysis, patient journey analytics, and forecasting through well-designed, governed data products.
- Ensure compliance with pharma industry data regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, data privacy for HCP/patient-level data, industry data licensing agreements).
- Build automated testing, validation, and deployment workflows for data pipelines and transformations.
- Ensure data products meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements (e.g., role-based access, data masking, PII handling).
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, resolving issues related to data quality, latency, and reliability.
- Document technical designs, data flows, and governance processes for internal stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging trends in AI data product design, Snowflake features, and data governance best practices.
Work from home Details
- This role is open to candidates residing in India, Latin America (including Costa Rica, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia), or Europe.
- Standard work hours are flexible but require overlap with core team for team syncs, stand-ups, and stakeholder meetings.
- Candidates must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home-office setup.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required for cross-regional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of experience in data product design,
data engineering, or a related discipline, with direct exposure to AI/ML data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including: data modeling, warehousing, and performance optimization; writing and optimizing complex SQL queries; Snowflake features such as Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, and Time Travel.
- Practical experience with Collibra for: data cataloging and metadata management; data lineage documentation; business glossary and data quality workflows.
- Proficiency with GitHub for: version control, branching, and pull request workflows; CI/CD pipeline integration for data/analytics projects.
- Robust understanding of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data to support AI/ML use cases.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial data, including familiarity with common data types and sources (e.g., IQVIA/IMS, Symphony Health, Veeva, specialty pharmacy data, claims data, CRM/call activity data, sample data) and how they are used in commercial analytics.
- Understanding of pharma commercial functions (sales, marketing, market access, medical affairs) and the data products/KPIs that support them.
- Solid scripting/programming skills (Python, SQL, or similar) for data transformation and automation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with data engineering, governance, and AI product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing data products specifically for AI/ML model training, feature stores, or generative AI applications.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt) integrated with Snowflake.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their integration with Snowflake.
- Experience with API design for data product consumption.
- Prior experience in pharma, biotech, or life sciences commercial organizations, ideally supporting commercial data warehouses or Commercial Data & Analytics (CDA) teams.
- Snowflake or Collibra certifications.
