As part of the BVM team, you will be responsible for building and continuously improving one of BVM’s most important digital touchpoints — its website.

Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Web Developer who can take ownership of BVM’s website — from day-to-day maintenance and quick updates to developing new features and improving the overall digital experience over time.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, can understand what the business needs, and can turn those requirements into practical web solutions.
The ideal candidate should be able to maintain what already exists, troubleshoot issues independently, make timely changes, and progressively build the website into a more powerful platform.

Key Responsibilities
1. Website Management & Maintenance
Take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance of the BVM website
Make content, layout, design and functionality updates as required
Add and update pages, sections, forms, banners, event information and other website content
Identify and fix bugs, broken links, errors and performance issues
Ensure the website remains functional, responsive and up to date across devices and browsers
Manage regular updates and improvements without disrupting the live website
2. Website Development
Develop new pages, features and functionalities as BVM's requirements evolve
Build landing pages for campaigns, registrations, exhibitors, speakers,



delegates and events
Develop forms and interactive elements for lead generation and registrations
Integrate third-party tools, APIs, payment gateways, CRM systems and other platforms where required
Improve existing website architecture and functionality as the platform grows
Work on both quick-turnaround requirements and longer-term development projects
3. Website Performance & User Experience
Ensure the website is fast, responsive, secure and user-friendly
Identify opportunities to improve navigation and overall user experience
Optimise website performance, page loading speeds and mobile responsiveness
Ensure forms and important user journeys work smoothly
Monitor and troubleshoot website downtime or technical issues
4. SEO & Analytics
Implement basic technical SEO best practices
Optimise page structures, metadata, URLs, headings and other technical elements
Ensure new pages are built with SEO in mind
Work with the digital marketing team to support organic search growth
Implement and maintain tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console and tracking pixels
Help track important website actions such as registrations, enquiries and form submissions
5. Working With the Team
Work closely with the marketing, design, content and sales teams to understand website requirements
Convert creative and business requirements into functional web solutions
Suggest better technical or UX approaches when appropriate




Coordinate with external developers/agencies when required
Maintain proper documentation of website changes, integrations and technical setup

What We're Looking For
Strong experience in web development and website management
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Experience working with modern web development frameworks and/or CMS platforms
Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms is preferred
Ability to troubleshoot and independently resolve technical issues
Understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility
Familiarity with databases, APIs and third-party integrations
Basic understanding of website security, hosting, domains and deployments
Understanding of SEO and website analytics
Ability to work quickly and manage multiple requirements in a fast-paced environment
Robust problem-solving skills and willingness to take ownership

Bonus Skills
Experience with React / Next.js or similar modern frameworks
Experience with PHP, Node.js or Python
Experience with WordPress development and customisation
UI/UX understanding and ability to translate Figma/design files into functional websites
Experience with payment gateway and CRM integrations
Knowledge of Google Analytics, Search Console and Google Tag Manager
Experience building registration, ticketing, lead-generation or e-commerce systems
Basic understanding of cybersecurity and website optimisation
Familiarity with Git/GitHub and modern deployment workflows
Experience working on events, exhibitions, marketplaces or high-traffic websites
