Business Analyst - Regulatory Reporting
Job Description:
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Regulatory Reporting and Compliance within the Investment Banking/Capital Markets domain. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in regulatory reporting frameworks, strong analytical capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering technology-driven solutions.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Strong Business Analysis experience within Investment Banking / Capital Markets / Financial Services.
- Strong expertise in Regulatory Reporting and Compliance.
- Hands-on/domain experience with MiFID, ASIC, and EMIR regulations.
- Proven track record of end-to-end delivery of regulatory reporting/compliance projects.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Positive working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and commands.
- Strong Data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with large datasets and understanding data lineage/data flows.
- Strong documentation and requirement-gathering skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both business and technology teams.
Positive to Have
- Experience in Fixed Income / Capital Markets products.
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle and post-trade processes.
- Experience working with regulatory reporting platforms.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence,
or similar BA/project management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to regulatory reporting and compliance.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, compliance teams, technology teams, and project teams to understand regulatory requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as:
- MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive)
- ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission)
- EMIR (European Market Infrastructure Regulation)
- Analyse regulatory reporting requirements, data flows, business rules, and reporting gaps.
- Perform data analysis and reconciliation to identify data quality issues and reporting discrepancies.
- Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and other functional documentation.
- Support solution design, development, testing, UAT, and implementation activities.
- Work with technical teams to troubleshoot data and reporting issues.
- Conduct impact analysis for regulatory changes and assess downstream/upstream system dependencies.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support production issues and provide functional expertise during implementation and post-production activities.
- Ensure solutions comply with applicable regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
