Provide 24x7 production support for Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring adherence to SLAs and maintaining high availability of critical systems.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Oracle and PostgreSQL database technologies and provide technical leadership to the support team.
Administer and support Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate (OGG), RMAN, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) environments.
Troubleshoot complex Oracle database issues independently and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to implement permanent fixes.
Investigate and resolve database performance issues, including SQL tuning, wait event analysis, performance bottleneck identification, and optimization.
Lead and participate in Major Incident Review (MIR), Post Incident Review (PIR), and crisis management calls during critical production incidents.
Design, maintain, and support High Availability (HA), Replication, and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Perform backup, restore, recovery, failover, role swap, and DR testing activities using RMAN and Data Guard.
Execute database upgrades, migrations, patching, release deployments, and service requests.
Perform database capacity planning, storage management, and space optimization activities.




Manage PostgreSQL databases with a solid understanding of architecture, background processes, storage structure, schemas, tables, indexes, constraints, and partitioning.
Support PostgreSQL replication, WAL mechanism, archiving, backup and recovery, and high-availability environments.
Monitor and optimize PostgreSQL performance, database growth, locking, concurrency control, and transaction management.
Perform PostgreSQL database maintenance activities, including autovacuum monitoring and tuning.
Implement and maintain role-based access control, authentication methods, and database security best practices.
Identify and develop automation and self-healing solutions using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Tanium to improve operational efficiency.
Provide consultancy and recommendations for complex Oracle and PostgreSQL deployments and disaster recovery solutions.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure stable and secure database operations.
Mentor team members, share technical knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the database support organization.
