Role purpose: Designs, validates and deploys hardening controls across standard member-server, database-server and legacy Windows Server cohorts.

Discipline: Infrastructure Security

Develop CIS Level 1 hardening baselines for Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022 member-server cohorts, using GPO and approved configuration automation.

Assess and manage legacy Windows Server 2012 R2, LCOP, XP-dependent and decommissioning-flagged systems; define compensating controls and documented exceptions.

Implement and validate OS-level CIS Level 1 hardening for the seven SQL/database servers, coordinating with database and application owners.

Investigate server-side hardening impact, tune approved controls and support progression through pilot, lower-workplace and Production rings.

Strong Windows Server hardening experience using CIS Benchmarks and Microsoft Security Baselines.

GPO-based member-server configuration, local administrator controls, audit policy, LAPS and technical validation expertise.

Experience of SQL-hosting and legacy server environments, application/service dependency analysis and security exception management.
