About DiY
DiY – Do Interiors Yourself is a design and interior consultation company helping homeowners bring their interior projects to life through professional designs, technical drawings, consultations, and a growing network of local interior professionals.
We are looking for experienced Interior Designers who can work closely with clients, understand design requirements, conduct site visits, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and ensure that approved designs are executed correctly.
What You'll Do
- Handle interior projects from design coordination through execution .
- Conduct regular site visits and monitor project progress.
- Understand and interpret 2D layouts, working drawings, elevations and 3D designs .
- Verify site measurements and existing site conditions.
- Coordinate with designers, clients, contractors, carpenters and other vendors.
- Ensure execution follows the approved design, drawings and specifications.
- Monitor workmanship, material quality and project progress.
- Identify site-level issues and coordinate with the design/execution team for solutions.
- Coordinate carpentry, civil, electrical, plumbing, painting, false ceiling, flooring and other interior works.
- Track project timelines and follow up with contractors/vendors.
- Maintain project/site progress updates.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding project progress.
- Help resolve design and execution-related issues at site.
- Coordinate multiple projects/sites when required.
What We're Looking For We are looking for an Interior Designer who understands more than just design .
You should have a good understanding of how an interior design moves from:
Design → Drawings → Materials → Site Execution → Quality → Completion
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Interior Design
- Positive understanding of working drawings and technical drawings
- Practical knowledge of interior site execution
- Experience coordinating contractors and vendors
- Understanding of materials, finishes and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings, elevations and 3D renders
- Knowledge of carpentry, civil, electrical, plumbing, false ceiling, painting and flooring works
- Good client communication and coordination skills
- Ability to identify and resolve site-level issues
- Good understanding of project timelines and follow-ups
- AutoCAD and SketchUp knowledge will be an advantage
Preferred Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field
- Experience handling residential interior projects
- Candidates with an existing network of reliable contractors/vendors in their city will be preferred.
