Summary of Job:

Responsible for designing, implementing and optimizing processes from Lab to commercial scale.

Key Responsibilities

- Scale up the recent molecules (NCE’s) from R&D; to commercial scale through pilot plant.

oObserve the demo batches in process engineering / R & D lab, generate the data from lab study and identify critical process parameters to develop the scale up process. oConduct various studies such as reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, RC studies ,etc. to develop a robust scale up process.
- Review / prepare scale up document, coordinate effectively with various cross functional departments like Production, QC, QA with R&D; / PELAB to absorb the technology from lab to plant.
- Analyze the initial scale up batches critically & debottleneck the problems faced in the plant.

oprepare material, energy balance & effluent data for the scale up batches.
- Coordinate with other functional groups regarding operability, technical feasibility,



engineering design, maintenance, project schedule and documentation requirements
- Pilot plant trial for optimization, fine tuning of process and to understand/monitor critical process parameters at pilot scale to avoid failure in commercial scale.
- Equipment selection, design facility creation with respect to process requirement.
- Ensure safety systems are well prepared and intact in the plant suiting to the scale up process.
