About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate GIS Developer Open Source Technology to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable web-based geospatial applications and enterprise GIS solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in GeoServer, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, OpenLayers/Leaflet/Mapbox, REST APIs, OGC standards, and modern frontend technologies such as Angular or React. The candidate will be responsible for developing interactive mapping solutions, integrating spatial data services, optimizing GIS applications, and supporting the complete software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain web-based GIS applications, dashboards, and interactive mapping solutions.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for geospatial and spatial data services.
- Build interactive maps and GIS interfaces using OpenLayers, Leaflet, Mapbox, or similar libraries.
- Publish, configure, and manage geospatial services using GeoServer or equivalent platforms.
- Work with PostgreSQL/PostGIS for spatial data storage, querying, and management.
- Implement spatial analysis, geospatial data processing, and coordinate transformations.
- Work with OGC standards and formats, including WMS, WFS, WMTS, GeoJSON, and KML.
- Integrate frontend and backend components to develop scalable and high-performance GIS solutions.
- Develop applications using Angular/React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Optimize GIS applications for large-scale spatial datasets and high-performance map rendering.
- Implement tile caching and geospatial performance optimization using technologies such as GeoWebCache and WMTS.
- Integrate GIS solutions with enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
- Participate in system design, development, deployment, testing, debugging, and application maintenance.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.




- Use Git and version control systems for source-code management.
- Prepare technical documentation, deployment guides, configuration documents, and SOPs.
- Troubleshoot application, API, database, and geospatial service-related issues.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve development productivity and accelerate solution delivery.
- Contribute to advanced GIS initiatives involving real-time geospatial processing, AI/ML, 3D/WebGL GIS, mobile GIS applications, and large-scale spatial datasets.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in GIS application development across web and client-server environments.
- Robust hands-on expertise in GeoServer, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and OGC standards.
- Strong experience with OpenLayers, Leaflet, or Mapbox.
- Proficiency in Angular/React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Good understanding of WMS, WFS, WMTS, GeoJSON, and KML.
- Experience in spatial database design, spatial queries, and geospatial data processing.
- Strong understanding of GIS application architecture and the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with Git/version control systems.
- Hands-on experience with debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and application optimization.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience with enterprise GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or similar technologies.
- Experience with GeoWebCache, tile caching, and WMTS.
- Exposure to GIS deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Microservices Architecture.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Knowledge of real-time geospatial processing.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications in GIS.
- Experience with 3D GIS, WebGL, and visualization technologies.
- Exposure to mobile GIS application development.
- Experience handling and optimizing large-scale spatial datasets.

Essential

- B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant engineering discipline
