Role Overview The engineer will support powertrain manufacturing programs through virtual assembly reviews, manufacturing-feasibility analysis and fastening audits. The role involves evaluating product and process data, identifying assembly and torque-related discrepancies, documenting technical findings, and coordinating corrective-action closure with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Collect and validate product CAD, part drawings, product structures, process flows, process sheets, assembly sequences, station data, engineering standards and torque specifications.
- Perform virtual assembly and digital manufacturing reviews using approved engineering tools.
- Evaluate assembly sequence, access, clearance, orientation, tool approach, serviceability, ergonomics and manufacturing feasibility at assigned stations.
- Review manufacturing process sheets and identify fastening operations by station, operation and part number.
- Extract applicable torque requirements and allowable limits from controlled engineering specifications, standards and part drawings.
- Retrieve available fastening-operation and production-line data from approved systems.
- Review tightening parameters including mean values, lower and upper specification limits and tightening-point quantities.
- Compare production-system fastening parameters with engineering requirements and identify mismatches, missing limits or incomplete information.
- Analyse torque traces and prepare or update torque-summary sheets and audit trackers.
- Raise,

track and document assembly-feasibility and fastening issues in designated project repositories.
- Prepare clear technical findings, discrepancy reports, presentations and periodic status updates.
- Collaborate with product, manufacturing, quality, process, digital assembly and fastening-engineering teams to support corrective actions and closure.

Required Technical Skills
- Automotive manufacturing-process knowledge with exposure to engine, transmission, axle or comparable powertrain assembly operations.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing process sheets, assembly sequences, station information, part drawings, product structures and controlled engineering documents.
- Understanding of virtual assembly, digital manufacturing and manufacturing-feasibility assessment.
- Knowledge of assembly sequence, access, clearance, orientation, serviceability, ergonomics and tool-approach evaluation.
- Knowledge of fastening operations, torque specifications, tightening parameters and production-system data comparison.
- Working knowledge of Teamcenter/AWC and virtual review tools such as VisMockUp or Process Simulate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office/productivity applications.
- Ability to maintain traceable torque summaries, issue trackers and technical reports.

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to fastening systems, tightening controllers and production fastening databases.
- Experience with torque-trace analysis and manufacturing data analytics.
- Familiarity with virtual manufacturing, digital assembly or digital validation workflows.

Experience and Qualification
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in automotive powertrain assembly, virtual assembly, virtual manufacturing engineering or fastening systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Production or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience supporting cross-functional automotive manufacturing programs is preferred.

Soft Skills
- Strong collaboration with product development, manufacturing engineering, quality, process engineering and plant operations.
- Proactive problem-solving attitude with attention to detail and a solid quality mindset.
- Clear technical writing for traceable findings, audit observations, discrepancy reports and status updates.
- Strong planning, presentation, follow-up and remote-coordination capability.
- Ability to communicate effectively with global engineering stakeholders.

Performance Expectations
- Accurate and error-free virtual assembly and fastening-audit reports.
- On-time delivery in accordance with the agreed reporting cadence and program milestones.
- Early identification and communication of feasibility concerns, torque mismatches and incomplete inputs.
- Clean, traceable and auditable records of input revisions, findings, issue logs and action status.
- Active participation in technical reviews and timely support for corrective-action closure.
