About the Role

We're building a content team focused on internet-native work across social, digital, and branded formats. We're looking for a video editor who's obsessed with the craft — someone who can spend an unreasonable amount of time figuring out why one cut feels right and another doesn't.

You might come from documentary, narrative film, social content, motion graphics, mixed-media, branded work, YouTube, or somewhere else entirely. We don't care which — we care that you have a point of view.

We're not looking for someone who knows how to use Premiere. We're looking for someone who knows why to cut.

This role blends traditional editing with generative AI tools (Runway, Veo, Kling, Sora, HeyGen, and whatever comes next). You don't need to already know all of them — we care more about your eye and your curiosity.

What You'll Do

- Turn raw footage into a story, not just execute a predefined edit
- Find stronger hooks, cuts, and structures within existing footage
- Work across editorial styles — documentary, narrative, hybrid, social-first, experimental
- Experiment with generative AI tools alongside traditional footage, and know when a new tool actually helps
- Collaborate with producers, writers, strategists, and designers from concept to final output
- Keep a consistent visual/editorial language across a series or campaign
- Edit with the platform in mind — pacing, hooks, retention, viewer behavior




- Speak up when something isn't ready to ship, and push for another pass when it matters

What Would Make You a Strong Fit

- Real editing experience — freelance, personal projects, professional, or a mix
- A portfolio that shows your editing ability and a clear point of view
- A solid grasp of storytelling, pacing, and visual rhythm (fast ≠ good pacing)
- Internet fluency — you understand how contemporary content actually communicates
- The instinct to find the story in raw footage, not wait to be told
- Comfort experimenting, including with things that might not work
- Curiosity about generative AI and emerging tools
- A balance of caring about quality and knowing when work needs to ship

You don't need to be great at all of these — we'd rather have someone exceptional at one and curious about the rest.

Nice to Have

- Motion graphics (After Effects, DaVinci Fusion, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with generative video/image tools
- Background in branded or commercial content
- Basic color grading or sound design knowledge
