Role overview
We are hiring our first dedicated UI/UX Product Designer. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning the full design process - from understanding a business problem and mapping a workflow to creating polished interfaces and working with engineers until the experience is shipped. You will work closely with a small, dedicated engineering team, technology leadership, product stakeholders and sustainability subject-matter experts. Your challenge will be to make complex ESG, LCA, carbon accounting and compliance workflows feel clear, intuitive and approachable without losing the accuracy that enterprise users need.
This is not a screen-production role. We are looking for a designer who asks the right questions, structures ambiguous requirements, considers user and business outcomes, and takes ownership of the quality of the final product.
What you will own
- End-to-end product design. Lead discovery, user flows, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, visual design and implementation review for new features and product improvements.
- Complex workflow simplification. Translate business requirements, regulatory logic and data heavy processes into experiences that are understandable, efficient and trustworthy.
- User-centered problem solving. Build an informed view of user needs through stakeholder interviews, customer conversations, usability testing, feedback and product data where available.
- High-quality UI execution. Produce responsive, accessible and visually consistent interfaces for web-based B2B products, including dashboards, data-entry flows, reports, tables and multi-step journeys.
- Design system ownership.
Establish and evolve reusable components, interaction patterns, visual standards and documentation across Nirantaras product suite.
- Engineering collaboration. Work directly with engineers throughout the sprint, provide clear specifications and states, resolve edge cases, review implementation and make pragmatic trade offs when needed.
- Continuous improvement. Identify friction in existing experiences, prioritise improvements with the team, validate solutions and help define meaningful measures of success.
- Design advocacy. Bring a user-first design perspective into product discussions and help build robust design habits across the company as our product function grows.
What we are looking for
- 4-7 years of hands-on product design, UI/UX design or interaction design experience, with meaningful experience in a product company.
- A strong portfolio showing shipped web or SaaS products - not only concept work, marketing websites or visual redesigns. We want to understand the problem, your process, trade-offs and the outcome.
- Experience designing B2B SaaS, enterprise software, data-heavy applications or complex multi-role workflows.
- Strong command of Figma, including auto layout, components, variants, prototyping and shared libraries.
- Solid grounding in UX principles, information architecture, interaction design,
visual hierarchy, responsive design and accessibility.
- Ability to move comfortably from low-fidelity exploration to detailed, implementation-ready designs covering loading, empty, error, permission and edge states.
- Clear communication and the confidence to explain design reasoning, invite critique and challenge requirements constructively when the user experience can be improved.
- A team-oriented, low-ego working style and comfort operating independently in a small, fast-moving team where not every problem arrives neatly defined.
- Genuine interest in sustainability, climate technology or ESG, along with the curiosity to learn an unfamiliar and regulation-heavy domain.
Good to have
- Experience with sustainability, ESG reporting, carbon accounting, climate technology, LCA, supply chain or compliance products.
- Experience creating or scaling a design system across multiple related products.
- Familiarity with product analytics, usability testing, session recordings or experimentation tools.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and front-end component frameworks; coding is not required, but understanding implementation constraints is valuable.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools thoughtfully for research synthesis, rapid exploration, prototyping or documentation.
