Transport Executive
Job Title: Transport Executive
Department: Logistics / Administration
Industry: Leather Manufacturing
Reporting To: Logistics / Admin Manager
Location: Factory / Manufacturing Unit
Job Summary
Responsible for managing the day-to-day transportation activities of the factory, including vehicle scheduling, raw material and finished-goods movement, driver coordination, route planning, documentation, and ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transportation requirements for the factory.
- Arrange vehicles for raw materials, finished leather, accessories, and other goods.
- Coordinate with transporters, drivers, suppliers, production, stores, and dispatch teams.
- Prepare daily vehicle schedules and allocate vehicles according to requirements.
- Monitor vehicle movement and ensure timely pickup and delivery.
- Maintain records of vehicle trips, fuel, mileage, loading/unloading, and delivery details.
- Verify transport bills, driver expenses, freight charges, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities and ensure proper documentation.
- Track vehicle breakdowns, delays, accidents, and other transport-related issues.
- Ensure vehicles and drivers comply with applicable safety and legal requirements.
- Maintain transporter/vendor records and support rate negotiations.
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Ensure delivery challans, invoices,
e-way bills, LR/consignment notes, and other documents are properly maintained.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly transport reports for management.
- Handle customer/supplier transportation-related queries and resolve delivery issues.
- Support factory administration and logistics activities as required.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of transport and logistics operations.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic computer applications.
- Ability to maintain transport records and prepare reports.
- Good negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple vehicles and urgent transportation requirements.
- Problem-solving ability and willingness to work in a factory setting.
Qualification & Experience
- Education: Graduate / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years in transport/logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing, leather, footwear, textile, or export factory.
- Knowledge of local routes and transporter networks will be an advantage.
