Role Description The Traffic Manager is a full-time, in office role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, responsible for overseeing the daily movement and coordination of cargo and transport operations. This role manages scheduling and routing of bulk, consolidated, and express cargo, ensuring timely dispatches, arrivals, and optimal utilization of fleet and resources.
The Traffic
Manager monitors shipment status, resolves operational issues, and coordinates closely with warehouse teams, drivers, and third-party logistics partners.
Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, tracking performance metrics, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
The role also involves preparing reports, supporting customer service teams with shipment updates, and collaborating with management on planning and cost control.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in traffic management, transport coordination, and logistics operations within bulk, consolidated, or express cargo environments.
- Experience in route planning, fleet utilization, scheduling, and real-time tracking of shipments and deliveries.
- Knowledge of warehouse processes, inventory flow, and integration with third-party logistics and project movement activities.
- Ability to use logistics software, transport management systems, and standard office tools for reporting and data analysis.
- Solid understanding of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance related to cargo movement and transport.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills to coordinate with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to work under time constraints and fluctuating workloads.
- Relevant academic background in logistics, supply chain, transportation management, or a related field; prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
