Role Description The Tool Developer – Cybersecurity (Unpaid) is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cybersecurity tools that support threat detection, analysis, and prevention. Day-to-day tasks include writing and optimizing code, integrating tools with existing systems and databases, and collaborating with cybersecurity researchers to translate requirements into functional software solutions. The role involves testing, debugging, and documenting software components,



as well as contributing to automation and scalability of security operations.

The Tool

Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that tools align with HackHalt’s mission and can be effectively used by partners and trainees across the globe.

Qualification

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and Programming for building and maintaining cybersecurity tools.
- Candidates should possess practical experience with Databases and Integration to connect tools with data sources and existing platforms.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles for designing scalable and maintainable software architectures.
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity concepts, threat landscapes, and security best practices is beneficial.
- Experience with scripting languages, version control systems, and team-oriented development workflows is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams is required.
- A degree or ongoing studies in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is advantageous.
