Manipal Hospitals is seeking a skilled Technician for our Histopathology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue samples for microscopic examination. You will work closely with pathologists and other lab staff to ensure the accuracy and quality of laboratory results. Your primary duties will include embedding, slicing, and staining tissue specimens, as well as maintaining laboratory equipment and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and process tissue specimens for histological examination.
- Perform embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue samples.
- Maintain records of specimen preparation and processing.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Follow quality control measures and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to provide timely results.
- Assist in the training of new staff and students when required.





Skills and Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience as a histopathology technician or in a similar role.
- Robust knowledge of histological techniques and laboratory practices.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and handling specimens.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety and quality control protocols in histopathology.

Tools and Technologies:

- Microtome for sectioning tissues.
- Automated tissue processors.
- Staining machines and equipment.
- Laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) for safety.
