Job Description

As an SDE II – Data Platform , you will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing large-scale distributed data systems that process and serve data across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about distributed systems, streaming architectures, and platform engineering.

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
n
- Build Scalable Data Platforms : Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems that support real-time and batch data processing across the organization.
n
- Streaming & Data Processing: Build and optimize data processing solutions using modern streaming and distributed computing frameworks to ensure high throughput, reliability, and scalability.
n
- Platform Engineering : Contribute to the development and evolution of the data platform, improving system reliability, operational efficiency, observability, and developer experience.
n
- System Design & Architecture : Participate in the design and implementation of scalable data architectures and distributed systems while making informed engineering trade-offs around performance, reliability, and cost.
n
- Infrastructure & Cloud Automation : Leverage contemporary infrastructure and orchestration tools to build, deploy, and operate highly available data services and platform components.
n
- Performance & Optimization : Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve data processing efficiency, system performance, platform costs, and resource utilization.
n
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner closely with software engineers, platform engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions
n
- Operational Excellence : Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support activities to ensure platform stability and reliability.

What You'll Bring to the Team
n
n
Experience:
n
3–5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related backend engineering roles, with hands-on experience building distributed systems and data infrastructure.
n
Distributed Systems & Data Engineering:
n
Strong experience with:
n
n
- Apache Spark
n
- Apache Flink
n
- Apache Kafka
n
- Streaming data architectures
n
- Batch processing systems
n
- Distributed computing concepts
n
n
Programming Skills:
n
n
- Strong proficiency in Python (must-have)
n
- Experience with modern programming languages such as Golang or Rust is a plus
n
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals
n
n
Infrastructure & Platform Engineering:
n
Hands-on experience with:
n
n
- Kubernetes
n
- Terraform
n
- Docker
n
- CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins
n
n
Experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting applications in cloud-native environments.
n
Databases & Data Modeling:
n
n
- Strong SQL skills
n
- Experience working with large-scale datasets
n
- Understanding of data modeling and data pipeline design principles
n
n
System Design & Problem Solving:
n
n
- Strong understanding of low-level system design concepts
n
- Ability to reason about distributed systems, scalability challenges, and architectural trade-offs
n
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
n

- Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical initiatives

Qualification and Experience
n
n
- 3–5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
n
- Proven experience building and operating distributed systems in a product or technology-driven environment.
