Position - Surface Treatment Lead - Fabrication

Location - Dabaspet industrial, Area, Bangalore Rural.

Education - Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field .

No transportation

Candidates are ready to relocate to near Dabaspet is preferred.

10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial surface treatment (Liquid painting, anodising, passivation, chemical conversion), with at least 4 years in a supervisory or lead role. $ to 5 years of experience in AS and NADCAP certified facility is a must have.

Supervise daily surface treatment operations (pre-treatment, coating, curing, and final inspection) to meet production schedules

Monitor and maintain optimal process parameters, including chemical bath concentrations, pH levels, temperature, bake oven cycles, and spray gun settings

Troubleshoot finishing defects (e.g., orange peel, pinholes, poor adhesion, uneven thickness) and implement immediate corrective actions

Manage inventory levels for paint, powder, chemicals, and masking materials to prevent production downtime

1. Quality Assurance and Compliance

Ensure all finished products strictly adhere to customer specifications and international standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, Qualicoat, or specific standards) Oversee testing protocols, including Dry Film Thickness (DFT) checks, cross-hatch adhesion tests, gloss meter readings, and salt spray testing

Maintain accurate logs of chemical titration, bath maintenance,



and quality test results for audit readiness

Ensure strict compliance with environmental regulations regarding chemical disposal, wastewater treatment, and hazardous waste management

1. Technical support and troubleshooting

Provide hands-on departmental technical guidance for surface treatment, support root-cause analysis using 8D or RCA techniques
1. Resource and equipment management

Manage equipment, instruments, human resources and capital requisitions for current equipment or upgrades
1. Cross-functional coordination

Work closely with Engineering, Production and quality driving deliverables, Planning and ERP (work orders, routing), Procurement (material availability, BOM), and business development (expedites, quality feedback)
1. People leadership

Supervise, mentor, and develop leaders, operators, and welders; lead training for welding qualifications, machine operation, safe handling and process best practices; conduct performance reviews and staffing plans
1. Data Analysis and Continuous improvement

Conduct periodic reviews of quality metrics, perform data-driven analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Why, Fishbone, Root Cause Analysis)
1. Training and Capability Building

Identify skill gaps and organise training programs to standardize systems, improve performance and build technical capabilities across the team.
