Staff Nurse/Senior staff Nurse – MULTIPLE SPECIALTIES & DEPARTMENTSRole Description The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients across various clinical departments and super-speciality services at KDSG Super Speciality Hospital, Noida .
The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, medication administration, clinical monitoring, implementation of individualized nursing care plans, documentation, patient education, and coordination with doctors and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Staff Nurse/Senior staff Nurse will be deployed according to their clinical competency, experience, specialty expertise, and departmental requirements . The position requires adherence to hospital policies, infection prevention and control standards, patient safety protocols, nursing standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Assessment & Nursing Care
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessment on admission and at appropriate intervals.
- Identify changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centred nursing care.
- Monitor vital signs, neurological status, pain, intake-output, and other relevant clinical parameters.
- Maintain appropriate nursing care according to patient acuity and specialty requirements.
1. Medication & Treatment Administration
- Administer medications safely as prescribed.
- Follow the principles of medication safety and appropriate patient identification.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and adverse drug reactions.
- Perform medication reconciliation and report medication-related concerns.
- Ensure proper documentation of medications and treatments.
1. Clinical Procedures & Specialty Care
- Assist doctors and multidisciplinary teams during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Perform nursing procedures according to competency and hospital protocols.
- Provide specialty-specific care according to departmental guidelines.
- Maintain readiness for emergency interventions and resuscitation.
- Staff assigned to OT/critical care/specialty areas should demonstrate relevant specialty competencies.
1. Operation Theatre Responsibilities
For candidates deployed in OT, responsibilities may include:
- Pre-operative patient preparation and verification.
- Surgical safety checklist compliance.
- Maintaining aseptic and sterile practices.
- Scrub and circulating nurse responsibilities according to competency.
- Instrument, sponge, needle and swab counts.
- Coordination with surgeons, anaesthetists and OT technicians.
- Specimen handling and documentation.
- Post-operative handover and patient transfer.
- Maintenance of OT records and surgical documentation.
1. Critical Care Responsibilities
For ICU/CCU/CTVS ICU/NICU/PICU candidates:
- Continuous monitoring of critically ill patients.
- Monitoring and documentation of hemodynamic and other relevant parameters.
- Ventilator and airway-care support according to competency.
- Infusion pump and high-alert medication management.
- Recognition and escalation of clinical deterioration.
- Assistance during code blue, resuscitation and emergency procedures.
- Infection prevention and device-associated infection prevention practices.
1. Labour Room & Maternal Care
For Labour Room candidates:
- Maternal and fetal monitoring.
- Assistance during normal and assisted deliveries.
- Preparation for obstetric emergencies.
- Post-delivery maternal and newborn care.
- Support for emergency obstetric procedures.
- Accurate documentation of maternal and newborn care.
1. NICU & PICU
- Age-appropriate assessment and monitoring of neonatal and paediatric patients.
- Monitoring of respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological and other relevant parameters.
- Safe medication administration based on weight/age-specific requirements.
- Support for ventilated and critically ill neonates/children according to competency.
- Family education and communication.
- Strict adherence to infection prevention practices.
1. Oncology & Dialysis
For Oncology:
- Safe administration and monitoring of chemotherapy as per competency and institutional protocol.
- Monitoring for adverse reactions and treatment-related complications.
- Patient education and supportive care.
For Dialysis:
- Pre-, intra- and post-dialysis patient assessment.
- Monitoring vital signs and treatment parameters.
- Vascular access care.
- Recognition and management/escalation of dialysis-related complications.
- Infection prevention and documentation.
1. Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate, complete, timely and legible nursing documentation.
- Ensure proper nursing handover during shift changes.
- Communicate critical patient information using approved communication methods.
- Coordinate effectively with physicians, technicians, pharmacists and allied healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and information security.
1. Infection Prevention & Patient Safety
- Follow hand hygiene and standard precautions.
- Adhere to isolation and transmission-based precautions where applicable.
- Follow safe injection and medication practices.
- Ensure appropriate use of PPE.
- Participate in prevention of patient falls, pressure injuries, medication errors, healthcare-associated infections and other patient-safety events.
- Report incidents, near misses and adverse events according to hospital policy.
1. Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to clinical emergencies.
- Participate in Code Blue and resuscitation activities.
- Identify early warning signs of patient deterioration.
- Provide appropriate immediate nursing interventions within scope of practice.
- Escalate emergencies to the appropriate medical team without delay.
1. Quality Improvement & Professional Development
- Participate in nursing audits, quality improvement projects and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in mandatory training, competency assessments and continuing nursing education.
- Maintain specialty-specific competencies.
- Contribute to improving patient experience and clinical outcomes.
- Follow NABH-aligned hospital policies, procedures and nursing standards.
QualificationsEssential Qualifications Minimum 2 years of Experience in Relevant Departments
- ANM/GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing or equivalent recognized nursing qualification.
- Valid registration with the appropriate State Nursing Council / Nursing Registration Authority.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
- Good clinical judgement and patient-care skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to patient safety, professional ethics and confidentiality.
Preferred Experience Relevant clinical experience in hospital or super-speciality settings is preferred.
