Role & responsibilities

As a Software Engineer III and IV, you will develop and maintain scalable and reliable REST APIs, services, and event-driven components that deliver digital capabilities to customers. You will apply engineering best practices such as SOLID principles, OpenAPI-driven design, secure integration patterns, automated testing, and performance-aware development across the software development life cycle. This role should be comfortable working within Azure DevOps, GitHub, containerized environments, and CI/CD-enabled delivery models, while partnering with senior engineers and architects on broader solution and platform decisions.

Skills and Background Youll Need:

Education: B.Tech / B.E. in software engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems, or a related field is required.

Experience: 6+ years of related experience.

- Hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
- Robust understanding of API design patterns, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, resiliency, security, performance optimization, and production-grade service development
- Experience with containerized application development using Docker and Kubernetes / AKS in Azure-based environments
- Experience in load testing REST API applications with tools like Apache JMeter, SOAPUI, or Scala/Gatling scripting
- Experience integrating applications with databases,



including SQL and NoSQL data repositories
- Experience developing and implementing application solutions on Microsoft Azure, with practical awareness of Azure-native services used by modern API platforms
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub, Maven, and CI/CD-enabled delivery practices
- Experience working within an Agile delivery / DevOps methodology to deliver production-ready software in iterative sprints
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and fast-learning abilities
- Experience integrating APIs through gateway and management platforms such as Kong / Kong Konnect preferred
- Experience with event-driven publish-subscribe solution patterns using Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hub, or similar technologies
- Working knowledge of Confluent Platform components, including Kafka brokers/clusters, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, connector development, and Apache Flink concepts such as statements and UDFs preferred
- Ability to understand frontend integration patterns and work effectively with frontend engineers to connect user experiences with backend APIs and services
- Ability to partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to understand requirements and convert them into reliable application functionality
- Previous experience in a GCC environment and working across distributed teams/time zones is highly preferred.
