Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Smallworld Developer with experience in GE Smallworld GIS platforms (4.x and 5.3) and strong expertise in Magik programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, customizing, enhancing, and supporting Smallworld applications and web-based GIS solutions. The role requires working closely with technical and business teams to deliver high-quality GIS solutions for utility and enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, customize, and maintain applications using GE Smallworld GIS and Magik.

- Develop and support Smallworld Web Applications and GIS-based solutions.

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of Smallworld applications.

- Customize Smallworld data models, workflows, and business processes.

- Support production systems and resolve application issues within agreed SLAs.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.





- Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment guides.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development setting.

- Assist in Smallworld upgrade and migration activities when required.

Required Skills

- Hands-on experience with GE Smallworld versions 4.x and 5.3.

- Strong knowledge of Magik Programming Language.

- Good understanding of Smallworld GIS architecture and components.

- Experience in Smallworld Application Development and Support.

- Experience working on Smallworld Web Applications.

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Knowledge of GIS concepts and spatial data management.

- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.

- Understanding of databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.

Preferred Skills

- Understanding of Smallworld version upgrade and migration processes.

- Exposure to system integration and web services.
