Role Summary The ServiceNow CMDB & CSDM Data Model Specialist will be responsible for managing ServiceNow data models, data mapping, Transform Maps, CMDB, and CSDM. The candidate should have hands-on experience supporting data onboarding, transformation, reconciliation, and data quality initiatives, along with working exposure to Vulnerability Response and IT Asset Management.

Key Responsibilities The candidate will design, analyse, and maintain ServiceNow data models, data structures, relationships, and mappings. The role will involve developing and maintaining Import Sets, Transform Maps, Transform Scripts, Data Sources, and data transformation logic, as well as implementing and maintaining CMDB and CSDM structures in accordance with ServiceNow best practices.

The candidate will support CI identification, reconciliation, normalization, and data quality activities and will analyse source-system data to define appropriate source-to-target mappings. The role will also involve troubleshooting data import, transformation, reconciliation, and CI relationship issues and supporting CMDB data onboarding from infrastructure, asset, security, and other enterprise data sources.

Experience with Discovery and Service Graph Connectors will be useful for improving CMDB data accuracy.

The candidate will support data requirements and integrations for Vulnerability Response and ITAM use cases and collaborate with technical teams, process SMEs, architects, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and resolve data-related issues. The role will also require preparation of technical documentation covering data mapping specifications, transformation logic, data models, and operational procedures, along with supporting data validation, testing, defect resolution, and production deployment activities.

Mandatory Skills The candidate must have 6+ years of ServiceNow experience with strong hands-on knowledge of the ServiceNow data model and data structures.

Strong expertise in CMDB and CSDM is mandatory, along with practical experience in Import Sets, Transform Maps, Transform Scripts, Data Sources, Data Mapping, and Data Validation.

The candidate should also have a good understanding of CI classes, CI relationships, the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE), CMDB Health, Data Certification, and Data Quality.

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on ServiceNow data specialist with robust expertise in CMDB, CSDM, data mapping, and Transform Maps, along with practical exposure to VR and ITAM. The candidate should be analytical, detail-oriented, capable of troubleshooting complex data issues, and comfortable working with both technical and functional stakeholders.

The candidate should have experience performing functional and data validation testing and be capable of validating end-to-end data flows from source-system imports through transformation and into CMDB/ServiceNow.

Experience in troubleshooting production data issues and supporting L2/L3 operations is expected, along with an understanding of Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes.

Preferred Skills

Working knowledge of Vulnerability Response, including vulnerability data models, CI correlation, and vulnerability ingestion, as well as IT Asset Management, including hardware and software asset data, lifecycle management, and CI/asset relationships, is preferred.

Exposure to ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, Service Graph Connectors, Integration Hub, REST APIs, ITSM, and ITOM would be an advantage.

Certifications

ServiceNow CSA, CIS-CMDB, CIS-Discovery/ITOM, and CSDM-related training or certifications are preferred
