CORE PURPOSE OF JOB The Senior Structural BIM Engineeer will be an integral part of the design team, establishing and managing the BIM project workflow and being responsible for quality, clash detection and data conversion. With the core role of Structural Revit Modelling, Coordination and Drawing production

SUPERVISORY/LEADERSHIP/MANAGERIAL TASKS

- Manage Technicians under direct supervision on technical aspect of their jobs.
- Manage the Human resource functions to direct reports such as Leave; Performance; Personal Development, Competencies etc.
- Provide BIM leadership to juniors.
- Influence Junior Staff and Colleagues to exert desired CKR Behaviour’s and Values.• Business Development and Marketing.
- Manage roll out of the Projects in line with set objectives.
- Highlight inadequacies and process improvements to ensure efficiency and in time delivery
- Monitor hours spent on tasks and alert to limitations where applicable.
- Ensure compliance to all fiscal and regulatory parameters
- Ensure and lead the efficient use of people and capital

ROLE DEPENDENCIES

- Engineering Personnel
- Internal CKR disciplines for quality coordination of MEP services.
- External stakeholders [Consultants; PM’s; Architects; QS; Clients; Developers; Government Bodies etc.]




- Liaising with Clients and other Consultants drafting/ BIM personnel
- Understanding client requirements, interpreting them using engineering judgements and presenting a solution.
- Interpret situations (internally and externally); apply knowledge of process (discipline; customer requirements) to provide appropriate solutions andmake informed project and business decisions.
- Evaluate project progress and make trade-offs to ensure the best use of available resources.
- Alert Management or colleagues to issues and risks in any project or the business itself

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education/Software expectations/Experience:

Two years of college in an engineering field, including specialized training in drafting, and at least 12 years of experience in drafting in the field underconsideration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- N3 diploma in engineering, and ten or more years of experience as a BIM Technician in the field under consideration, or an equivalent combinationof education and experience is desirable.
- Must have an in-depth working knowledge of current BIM versions with emphasis on project setup, multi-discipline coordination and collaboration.Especially with regards to Structural modelling and utilisation of latest BIM intelligence components for efficient modelling and representation intoprofessional drawings.o Supplementary experience in MEPF modelling advantageous.o Supplementary experience in Civil 3D Civil modelling and drawings advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Must have excellent knowledge on the following Autodesk design software (professional certification is an advantage)

- Autodesk Revit (Structural as primary solution, with knowledge of MEPF and architecture regarding model coordination)
- Autodesk Navisworks Manage is desirable




- Working knowledge of other Autodesk software which forms part of the design process workflow an advantage e.g. Autodesk Dynamo, etc.

• Must have excellent PC experience in Windows environment, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, webenabled application and database software
- Must be a self-starter and possess the drive to pursue continued education and BIM
- Possess the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Reinforcing detailing experience not required, but would be advantageous.

DUTIES

- Structural Revit Modelling and drawing production.
- Develop, implement and maintain the BIM Protocol for the project.
- Ensure that all stakeholders are on board with the project goals and understand the BIM process and their role within it.
- Model management and administration ensuring the health of the BIM database ‘model’
- Establish robust quality control procedures to ensure that all models and datasets are accurate and that the level of information is fit for purpose.
- Daily model management administration and maintenance

•Recording and monitoring the shared data and relationships between models, for example grids, floor levels and shared project coordinates.
- BIM content creation on a local / project basis and submittal to Principle and Senior BIM Team Leads to inclusion within the company content library
- Integration of Revit with other applications
- Assisting Senior BIM Team Leads in the deployment of the company BIM template and standards and ensuring that the design teams adhere tothese
- Conducting clash-detection and conflict resolution, then disseminating coordination information to the relevant parties both internally and externally.
- This is the full operational level for engineering drafting. Incumbents typically receive nonroutine engineering drafting assignments that involveapplication of most of the standardized drawing techniques regularly used. Assignments, problem-solving complete instructions and design detail by Principal BIM Technician or a Skilled Engineer.
