About Us
Established in 2005, Super Glitz is a founder-led garment manufacturer operating two climate-controlled facilities totalling 50,000 sq ft in IMT Manesar, with a capacity of approximately 150,000 pieces per month. We produce knits and wovens across ladieswear, kidswear and babywear for leading international retailers including Myer (Australia), Monoprix (France), Prénatal, Chicco, Original Marines and OVS Kids (Italy), El Corte Inglés (Spain), Basic Apparel (Denmark) and JAJU (Korea).
All production is executed in-house with no subcontracting, and our operations are certified under GOTS, OCS, OEKO-TEX 100, BCI and SEDEX.
The Role
We are looking for a Fabric Merchant to own the fabric pipeline end-to-end, from enquiry and development through to bulk delivery on the production floor. You will be the single point of contact between our mills and our production and planning teams, ensuring that the right fabric, in the right quality and quantity, reaches the cutting table on time.
This is a hands-on role with direct exposure to the partners and to our overseas buyers.
Key Responsibilities
Mill management and sourcing
- Manage day-to-day follow-up with fabric mills, processors and trim suppliers on development, booking, in-process status and dispatch.
- Source and develop fabrics against buyer briefs — cotton cambric, schiffli, voile, crepe, muslin, jersey, corduroy, double-cloth, denim, Lyocell and Modal.
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs and delivery terms; build and maintain a reliable mill base.
Development and approvals
- Coordinate lab dips, strike-offs, handlooms, knit-downs and bulk fabric submissions, and drive timely buyer approvals.
- Arrange fabric testing with accredited labs and close out any failures with the mill.
Production coordination
- Work closely with planning, cutting and production to align fabric in-house dates with the order TNA and cut plans.
- Track shrinkage, width, GSM and shade continuity; resolve shortages, rejections and short-shipments proactively.
- Reconcile fabric consumption against issued quantities and manage balance stock.
Compliance and documentation
- Maintain traceability documentation for certified programmes (GOTS, OCS, OEKO-TEX, BCI, Lenzing, European Flax), including transaction certificates and scope certificates.
- Keep fabric MIS, booking sheets and status trackers current and accurate for internal and buyer reporting.
What We Are Looking For
- 5–10 years of experience as a Fabric Merchant in a garment export house, buying house or mill.
- Sound working knowledge of both knits and wovens, and of dyeing, printing and finishing processes.
- An established network of mills and processors across the Delhi NCR belt and key hubs such as Ludhiana, Tirupur, Ahmedabad and Surat.
- Proven ability to manage multiple styles and delivery timelines under pressure without losing track of detail.
- Strong negotiation skills, along with transparent written and spoken English for buyer and mill correspondence.
- Comfortable with Excel and ERP-based merchandising systems.
- Graduate in any discipline; a qualification from NIFT, NIFTEM, TIT&S; or a comparable textile institute is an advantage.
Preferred
- Exposure to European or Australian retail buyers and their fabric quality and compliance expectations.
- Hands-on experience with GOTS-certified organic cotton programmes or schiffli and embroidered fabrics.
