Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment across the plant.

The role will lead the planning and execution of preventive, predictive, condition-based and breakdown maintenance, electrical shutdown activities, statutory compliance, maintenance planning, contractor management, spares and procurement, SAP maintenance systems, and electrical modification/MOC activities.

The incumbent will work closely with Operations, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Projects, Procurement and other cross-functional teams to ensure high equipment reliability, safe maintenance practices and timely execution of plant maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Maintenance & Reliability

- Lead and supervise planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical systems and equipment.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly electrical maintenance plans in line with plant priorities and equipment criticality.
- Ensure timely execution of condition monitoring activities and review findings to identify potential equipment failures.
- Lead troubleshooting and execution of breakdown/corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for electrical equipment.
- Review equipment performance and maintenance history to identify recurring failures and reliability improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain appropriate Maintenance Instructions (MI) and Maintenance Plans (MP) for electrical equipment based on defined maintenance frequencies.
- Ensure electrical equipment maintenance history is accurately captured and maintained.

1. Shutdown & Turnaround Maintenance

- Lead and coordinate electrical maintenance activities during planned plant and major shutdowns.
- Plan manpower, materials, tools and resources required for shutdown execution.
- Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical and Instrumentation teams for electrical support during shutdown and routine plant activities.
- Ensure temporary power requirements during shutdowns are safely planned and executed for equipment such as:

- HVAC systems

- Hydrojetting machines

- Welding machines

- Grinding machines

- Other temporary electrical loads
- Review shutdown scope, job priorities and execution schedules and ensure timely completion.
- Ensure protected isolation, restoration and energization of electrical equipment in coordination with Operations.

1. Electrical Safety, Isolation & • Permit Management





- Ensure safe execution of all electrical maintenance activities in accordance with plant safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Review and approve HITRA/risk assessments for electrical maintenance activities.

- Ensure timely processing of maintenance notifications, work orders, permits and associated documentation.
- Coordinate electrical isolation and restoration of motor feeders based on approved Operations requirements.
- Ensure proper implementation of LOTO/isolation procedures before commencement of electrical work.

- Supervise and ensure safe execution of temporary electrical connections.
- Inspect, validate and certify temporary electrical connections before energization.
- Ensure periodic validation and inspection of portable electrical equipment and temporary connections.

- Conduct and monitor Tool Box Talks (TBT) for contract manpower and ensure adherence to safe work practices.

1. Contractor & • Field Management

- Supervise electrical maintenance contractors and ensure compliance with safety, quality and schedule requirements.
- Plan and mobilize contract manpower based on maintenance and shutdown requirements.

- Monitor contractor performance and ensure proper execution of jobs at site.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and maintenance teams during complex electrical maintenance activities.
- Ensure field-level compliance with approved procedures and safe work practices.

1. SAP & • Maintenance Work Management

- Ensure timely processing and closure of maintenance notifications, permits and work orders in SAP.
- Maintain accurate equipment maintenance history through proper SAP-PM transactions and documentation.

- Review maintenance backlog and ensure pending jobs are appropriately planned and prioritized.
- Ensure maintenance activities are accurately recorded to support equipment history, reliability analysis and future maintenance planning.
- Maintain integrity and accuracy of electrical maintenance master data and maintenance plans.

1. Spares, Inventory & • Procurement

- Identify critical electrical spares, consumables and materials required for maintenance and shutdown activities.
- Coordinate with MMCS/ZMMC and Materials Management teams for timely arrangement and availability of required spares.

- Inspect electrical spares and consumables and coordinate GRN clearance as required.
- Prepare and review Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for electrical materials and services.




- Coordinate with buyers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of critical materials.

- Provide appropriate technical specifications and data for PR creation.
- Review vendor technical documents and provide inputs for technical clearance.
- Monitor material delivery and proactively address procurement delays that may impact maintenance schedules.

- Support optimization of critical spare inventory based on equipment criticality and consumption patterns.

1. Statutory Compliance & • Audits

- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and legal requirements related to electrical systems and plant operations.
- Coordinate statutory inspection and compliance activities applicable to electrical equipment and installations.

- Prepare, review and maintain documentation required for internal, external and statutory audits.
- Monitor audit observations and drive timely closure of electrical maintenance-related non-conformances.
- Ensure maintenance records and compliance documentation are maintained and readily available for audits.

1. MOC, Modifications & • Electrical Projects

- Lead/support Management of Change (MOC) activities related to electrical systems and equipment.
- Review and execute electrical modification, improvement and plant upgrade activities.

- Provide technical inputs for electrical system modifications, equipment replacement and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Projects, Procurement and vendors for execution of modification activities.
- Ensure appropriate technical documentation, drawings and records are updated following modifications.

- Review electrical systems and equipment for opportunities to improve reliability, maintainability, safety and energy efficiency.

1. Lighting & • Plant Electrical Infrastructure

- Supervise maintenance of plant lighting, substation lighting and PIB electrical systems.
- Ensure timely identification and rectification of electrical defects in plant areas, substations and PIBs.

- Monitor recurring electrical defects and drive corrective actions to improve system reliability.
- Ensure electrical infrastructure remains available and compliant with plant operational and safety requirements.

1. Cross-functional Support

- Provide technical electrical support to Operations, Mechanical and Instrumentation teams for day-to-day plant activities.
- Coordinate closely with Operations for equipment isolation, restoration and maintenance requirements.

- Support cross-functional troubleshooting and shutdown planning.
- Provide electrical inputs during plant maintenance planning, equipment reliability initiatives and operational improvement activities.
