Role Description This is a full-time, in office role based at the Hosur facility for a Senior Engineer – Direct and Indirect Purchase. The role involves managing end-to-end procurement activities for direct materials (such as raw materials, components, and packaging) and indirect items (such as consumables, services, and capital equipment).

Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

The Senior

Engineer will collaborate closely with production, quality, maintenance, finance, and logistics teams to align purchasing plans with operational requirements and cost targets.



The role also includes monitoring supplier performance, driving cost optimization projects, supporting audits and compliance, and contributing to process improvements in the procurement function.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in direct and indirect procurement within manufacturing, preferably plastics or related industries.
- Proficiency in supplier evaluation, price negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management.
- Ability to analyze purchase data, manage inventory levels, and optimize cost without compromising quality or timelines.
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems, basic financial concepts related to purchasing, and standard sourcing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced qualifications in materials management or procurement are an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to ethical, compliant purchasing practices.
- Experience in vendor development, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain is beneficial.
