– Senior Civil 3D BIM Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Civil 3D BIM Technician to support infrastructure and civil engineering projects by developing accurate 3D models, detailed drawings, and coordinated BIM deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of civil modeling, documentation, and BIM workflows with experience working on roads, utilities, grading, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain detailed Civil 3D BIM models for infrastructure projects including roads, highways, utilities, grading, drainage, and site development.
- Prepare engineering drawings, plan profiles, cross-sections, corridors, surfaces, and quantity take-offs using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Create and manage alignments, profiles, assemblies, corridors, feature lines, surfaces, and pipe networks.
- Convert engineering design information into accurate BIM models and construction-ready drawings.
- Coordinate with civil engineers, BIM coordinators, survey teams, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Perform model updates based on design changes, review comments, and project requirements.
- Ensure BIM models comply with project standards, naming conventions, and information requirements.
- Support clash coordination and model review processes within the BIM environment.
- Generate Civil 3D documentation including layouts, details, schedules, and reports.
- Assist in BIM data exchange and coordination using Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.

Technical Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D with hands-on experience in infrastructure modelling and documentation.
- Robust understanding of civil engineering drawings, survey data, and construction documentation.




- Experience creating:
- Corridors and assemblies
- Surface modelling and grading
- Road alignments and profiles
- Pipe networks and utility models
- Earthwork calculations and quantity extraction
- Knowledge of AutoCAD standards, layers, blocks, annotation, and drafting practices.
- Experience working with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Familiarity with BIM platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM Collaborate Pro, or similar CDE environments.
- Understanding of ISO 19650 BIM processes and information management practices is an advantage.
- Ability to work with point clouds, survey data, GIS data, and external references is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Dynamo, scripting, or automation workflows is an added advantage.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- 6-12 years of experience as a Civil 3D Technician/BIM Technician in infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on Middle East projects (roads, utilities, highways, or urban infrastructure) is preferred.
