1. Position Purpose The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and supervising the overall Accounts & Finance function of the organization. The position requires a commercially smart, proactive, and responsible finance professional who can independently handle accounting operations while also supporting management in financial planning, cash-flow management, fund allocation, cost control, and finance-related decision-making.

The candidate will not be limited to routine accounting activities. He will be expected to act as a Finance Business Partner to Management, providing accurate and timely financial information, identifying financial risks, monitoring cash flow, and proactively recommending appropriate fund-management decisions.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Accounting & Financial Management

- Manage the complete day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the organization.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, banking, payments, receipts, expenses and general ledger activities.
- Maintain proper books of accounts and ensure accounting records are complete and up to date.
- Review and approve accounting entries, reconciliations, vouchers and supporting documents.
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual closing of accounts.
- Prepare and review financial statements, MIS and management reports.
- Monitor project-wise income, expenditure, profitability and outstanding receivables/payables.
- Ensure proper accounting for interior projects, architecture projects, contracts, vendors, contractors and project-related expenses.

B. Daily Finance Status & Management Reporting The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing daily financial status updates to Management. The daily finance report should include, wherever applicable:

- Current bank balances and available funds.
- Cash position.
- Receivables and collections status.
- Payables and upcoming payment commitments.
- Vendor/contractor outstanding payments.
- Customer outstanding and expected collections.
- Project-wise financial requirements.
- Upcoming statutory and other financial obligations.
- Pending payments requiring management approval.
- Fund shortages or expected cash-flow gaps.
- Critical financial issues requiring immediate attention.
- Recommended actions for effective utilization of available funds.

Management should receive a clear and concise daily financial picture, along with the Senior Accountant's recommendations and proposed actions. 3. Fund & Cash Flow Management

- Prepare and regularly update short-term and medium-term cash-flow projections.
- Monitor daily cash inflow and outflow.
- Identify upcoming fund requirements in advance.
- Ensure sufficient funds are available for critical business and project requirements.
- Prioritize payments based on business urgency, contractual commitments, project requirements and available funds.
- Recommend appropriate fund allocation and payment priorities to Management.
- Identify idle funds and suggest better utilization wherever appropriate.
- Proactively highlight possible cash-flow shortages before they become critical.
- Coordinate with Management regarding major payments, project funding and financial commitments.
- Monitor project-wise fund utilization and identify deviations.
- Suggest measures for improving working capital and reducing unnecessary financial blockage.

4. Financial Decision Support The Senior Accountant will be expected to actively participate in accounting and finance-related decision-making.

Responsibilities include

- Analyze financial data and provide meaningful recommendations to Management.
- Advise Management on payment priorities and fund allocation.
- Evaluate the financial impact of major purchases, vendor payments and project expenditures.
- Identify unnecessary or avoidable expenses and recommend cost-control measures.
- Provide financial inputs before major commercial decisions are taken.
- Highlight financial risks, discrepancies and unusual transactions immediately.
- Support Management in evaluating project profitability and financial viability.
- Provide accurate financial information for business planning and strategic decisions.
- Maintain a forward-looking approach rather than only reporting historical transactions.

Project & Cost Accounting As the organization operates in the Interior Design, Architecture and related project environment, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for:

- Maintaining project-wise financial records.
- Monitoring project budgets against actual expenditure.
- Tracking project advances and collections.
- Monitoring vendor and contractor bills.
- Verifying project-related expenses and supporting documents.
- Monitoring material, subcontractor, contractor and service-related payments.
- Identifying project cost overruns and financial deviations.
- Preparing project-wise profitability reports.
- Coordinating with Project, Purchase, Execution and Commercial teams regarding financial matters.
- Providing Management with project financial status and profitability insights.

6. Receivables & Payables Management

Receivables

- Monitor customer/client outstanding on a daily basis.
- Prepare ageing reports.
- Track committed collection dates.
- Coordinate with concerned departments for timely collections.
- Highlight overdue and high-risk receivables to Management.
- Prepare collection forecasts.

Payables

- Maintain accurate vendor and contractor outstanding reports.
- Prepare payment schedules based on available funds and priority.
- Verify invoices, approvals and supporting documents before payment processing.
- Ensure critical vendor/contractor payments are planned in advance.
- Avoid unnecessary delays in genuine and approved payments.
- Identify opportunities for better payment planning and working-capital management.

7. MIS & Financial Analysis Prepare and present regular MIS reports including:

- Daily Finance Status.
- Daily Cash & Bank Position.
- Receivables Ageing.
- Payables Ageing.
- Cash Flow Statement/Projection.
- Project-wise Profitability.
- Project Budget vs. Actual.
- Expense Analysis.
- Vendor/Contractor Outstanding.
- Client Outstanding.
- Monthly Profit & Loss.
- Balance Sheet.
- Working Capital Position.
- Management-specific financial reports.

Reports should be accurate, concise, analytical and decision-oriented, not merely data-based. 8. Statutory Compliance

- Ensure timely compliance with applicable accounting and taxation requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants and statutory professionals.
- Ensure timely GST, TDS, Income Tax and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audits.
- Support internal, statutory and tax audits.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of statutory liabilities and payments.
- Keep Management informed about important statutory deadlines and financial obligations.

9. Banking & Treasury Management

- Manage day-to-day banking activities.
- Monitor bank balances and transactions.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Coordinate with banks regarding banking requirements.
- Monitor fund transfers and payment transactions.
- Maintain proper control over online banking and financial transactions.
- Prepare banking-related MIS for Management.
- Ensure appropriate authorization and financial controls for all major transactions.

10. Team Management & Department Leadership The Senior Accountant should be capable of independently handling and leading the Accounts & Finance Department.

Responsibilities include

- Supervise Accounts Executives/Junior Accountants and other finance staff.
- Allocate work and monitor daily performance.
- Ensure timely completion of accounting activities.
- Establish discipline and accountability within the department.
- Review work performed by team members.
- Train and guide junior finance personnel.
- Establish effective accounting processes and internal controls.
- Ensure the department works proactively and does not wait for Management instructions for routine matters.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements.

11. Internal Controls & Risk Management

- Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls.




- Identify accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions and financial risks.
- Prevent unauthorized or duplicate payments.
- Ensure proper approval procedures are followed.
- Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts.
- Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
- Ensure segregation of duties wherever required.
- Immediately report major financial irregularities or risks to Management.

12. Coordination With Other Departments The Senior Accountant will closely coordinate with:

- Management / Directors
- Project & Execution Department
- Purchase Department
- Commercial Department
- Sales & Business Development
- HR & Administration
- Stores
- Vendors & Contractors
- Clients
- Banks
- Auditors and Consultants

The candidate must ensure that financial information flows accurately and promptly between departments. 13. Proactive Responsibilities The ideal candidate must be proactive rather than reactive.

He should

- Anticipate financial requirements before they arise.
- Identify upcoming payments and fund requirements in advance.
- Follow up for collections without waiting for instructions.
- Identify potential cash-flow problems early.
- Suggest cost-saving opportunities.
- Identify accounting/process gaps and rectify them.
- Keep Management updated on critical financial matters.
- Take ownership of finance-related issues until closure.
- Provide solutions along with problems.
- Be capable of working independently and taking appropriate routine financial decisions within the authority delegated by Management.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of Accounting & Finance.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS and applicable taxation.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel.
- Experience with Tally/ERP/accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of MIS and financial reporting.
- Cash-flow and working-capital management.

16. Educational Qualification

- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA Finance or equivalent qualification.
- Professional accounting/taxation certifications will be an advantage.

17. Experience

- Minimum 812 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance.
- Experience in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction, Real Estate, Furniture, Project-based or similar industries will be preferred.
- Candidate should have previous experience in independently handling or leading an Accounts & Finance function.

18. Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for a mature, smart, commercially sound and proactive Finance Professional who can take ownership of the complete Accounts & Finance Department.

The candidate should not function only as a bookkeeper or transaction processor. He must be capable of understanding the financial position of the organization every day, communicating it clearly to Management, identifying upcoming financial requirements and recommending appropriate actions for fund management, cash flow, collections, payments and cost control.

The ideal Senior Accountant should be someone whom Management can rely upon for accurate financial information, timely alerts, practical financial advice and effective execution of finance-related decisions.
