Job Summary

We are hiring a Scrap Process Manager to manage the end-to-end scrap and waste management process within a manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for scrap generation control, segregation, compliance, disposal, authorized vendor management, value realization, KPI monitoring and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in metal scrap, environmental compliance, Pollution Control Board requirements, scrap disposal and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities

Manage scrap generation, collection, segregation, storage and movement across the manufacturing plant.

- Ensure compliance with Pollution Control Board and environmental regulations related to scrap/waste handling and disposal.
- Manage authorized scrap vendors, recyclers and disposal agencies.
- Drive scrap sale, recycling and disposal processes to maximize scrap value realization.
- Negotiate vendor rates and ensure commercially optimal returns.
- Track scrap quantity, value, recycling and disposal performance.
- Develop and monitor KPIs such as scrap yield, scrap reduction, recycling %, value realization and compliance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for abnormal scrap generation.
- Work closely with Production, EHS, Stores, Procurement and other functions to reduce scrap.
- Maintain accurate scrap transaction, vendor,



disposal and compliance documentation.
- Support regulatory audits, inspections and internal reviews.
- Conduct employee awareness and training on scrap handling and environmental compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for waste reduction, recycling and process efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

Must Have:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in scrap/waste management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Pollution Control Board / environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience managing scrap vendors, recyclers and disposal processes.
- Hands-on experience in scrap value realization, vendor negotiation and recycling/disposal.
- Experience with scrap KPIs, MIS, reporting and documentation.
- Solid analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred:

Experience in Cable / Wire / Electrical manufacturing.

- Exposure to metal, plastic and chemical waste management.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, RCA or continuous improvement methodologies.
