Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer / Technical Architect with strong expertise in SAP ABAP, ABAP OO, SAP MM/Procurement and supplier integration.
The role involves developing and extending SAP solutions for procurement and supplier management, building and maintaining business-critical interfaces using IDoc, EDI, RFC, OData/APIs and SAP AIF, and supporting technical implementation, debugging, error analysis and performance optimization.
The candidate will work closely with architects, business stakeholders, external service providers and distributed international teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and extend SAP functionality for Procurement / Supplier Management using ABAP and ABAP OO.
- Build and maintain interfaces using IDoc, EDI, RFC, OData, REST/SOAP and APIs.
- Implement and support SAP AIF (Application Interface Framework) for interface monitoring, error handling and alerting.
- Configure SAP MM / S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement in coordination with business teams.
- Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, bug fixing and performance optimization.
- Develop reports, enhancements, interfaces and services based on architecture and technical specifications.
- Work on enhancement techniques including BAdIs, User Exits, Customer Exits and Enhancement Framework.
- Support application incidents and problem management at 3rd-level support.
- Prepare technical documentation and support testing, deployment and go-live activities.
- Collaborate with architects, business teams, EDI/interface teams and external service providers.
Mandatory Skills
SAP Functional Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Procurement and Supplier Integration processes.
- Hands-on experience in SAP MM / Procurement.
- Exposure to S/4HANA procurement environments.
SAP Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP and ABAP OO.
- Strong experience in interface development:
- IDoc
- EDI
- RFC
- OData / SAP Gateway
- REST / SOAP APIs
- Hands-on experience with SAP AIF (Application Interface Framework), including:
- Interface implementation
- Error handling
- Value mapping
- Monitoring
- Custom checks and actions
- Strong knowledge of BAdIs, User Exits, Customer Exits and Enhancement Framework.
- Strong debugging and performance-analysis skills.
- Experience with SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis, Code Inspector / ATC.

Experience & Qualification
- 10–12 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong experience in interface development and application support.
- Experience in procurement, logistics or supply-chain environments is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline (B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc. or equivalent).
