– REGISTERED MEDICAL OFFICER (RMO)

Reports To: Chief Medical Officer / Chief Operations Officer
Duty Type: Rotational (Morning & Night Shifts)
Experience required :3 years minimum
ROLE SUMMARY The Registered Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for providing continuous medical care to patients across OPD, Casualty, wards, ICU, MICU, and NICU. The RMO ensures timely assessment, emergency management, proper documentation, coordination with consultants, and compassionate patient care in accordance with hospital policies and clinical protocols.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Clinical & Patient Care
- Provide comprehensive medical care in OPD, wards, Casualty, ICU, MICU, and NICU.
- Conduct daily ward rounds and monitor patient progress.
- Manage post-operative patients including ICU care.
- Attend to newborns and ensure appropriate monitoring and documentation.
- Assess and document vital signs, intake–output, bowel sounds (when indicated) and overall clinical status.
- Initiate and continue treatment as per hospital protocols and consultant instructions.
1. Emergency & Casualty Management
- Independently manage Accident & Emergency cases.
- Perform Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS) as required.
- Stabilise patients and promptly involve consultants/physicians for critical or complex cases.
- Coordinate referrals and transfers when necessary.
1. Documentation & Records
- Maintain accurate, legible, and timely case sheet documentation.
- Prepare discharge summaries accurately and on time for:
- Newborns
- Post-operative patients
- ICU / MICU / NICU patients
- Ensure proper documentation of consents, high-risk cases, and emergency interventions.
- Report medico-legal cases, adverse events, and incidents immediately to hospital authorities.
1. Communication & Handover
- Maintain effective communication with consultants, nursing staff, and allied departments.
- Ensure proper shift handover including patient status, pending investigations, and treatment plans.
- The RMO shall leave duty only after the next duty doctor has reported and proper handover is completed.
1. Qualified Conduct & Ethics
- Maintain professionalism, discipline, and ethical medical practice at all times.
- Treat patients and their families with empathy, dignity, and respect.
- Maintain respectful and cooperative behaviour with nursing staff and hospital employees.
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
- Adhere to hospital rules, dress code, ID badge usage, and duty schedules.
- Avoid unauthorised leave or abandonment of duty.
1. Administrative & Quality Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement activities.
- Follow hospital protocols, NABH standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by senior consultants or hospital administration.
DUTY & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts including night duties.
- Ensure continuity of care through proper handover.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- MBBS with valid Medical Council registration.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
- Experience in emergency and inpatient care is mandatory.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
