About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Scientist – Peptide Chemistry with 2–5 years of hands-on experience in peptide synthesis, with strong practical knowledge of peptide chemistry, SPPS, cyclic peptide synthesis, purification, and characterization.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform SPPS and solution-phase peptide synthesis as required.
- Execute linear and cyclic peptide synthesis using appropriate strategies.
- Plan synthesis routes based on sequence, complexity, and desired modifications.
- Handle coupling, deprotection, cleavage, and related operations.
- Develop and optimize cyclic peptide synthesis and cyclization strategies.
- Troubleshoot incomplete coupling, deletion sequences, aggregation, and low yields.
- Purify peptides using preparative/reverse-phase HPLC and other suitable techniques.
- Analyze peptides using analytical HPLC/UPLC.
- Characterize peptides using LC-MS/Mass Spectrometry and relevant analytical techniques.
- Interpret analytical data and confirm peptide identity, purity, and molecular weight.
- Maintain laboratory records, experimental data, and synthesis documentation.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate project progress to the R&D; team.
- Follow laboratory safety, quality, and documentation procedures.
- Collaborate with analytical, process development, and other R&D; teams.

Required Qualifications

- M.Sc./M.Tech./Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Chemistry, or related discipline.




- 2–5 years of relevant hands-on experience in peptide chemistry/peptide synthesis.
- Strong practical experience in SPPS and good understanding of peptide structure, chemistry, and synthesis strategies.
- Hands-on experience with cyclic peptide synthesis/cyclization.
- Practical experience in peptide purification using preparative HPLC.
- Experience with analytical HPLC/UPLC and LC-MS/MS or Mass Spectrometry.
- Ability to interpret analytical data and troubleshoot peptide synthesis and purification challenges.
- Good laboratory practices and robust attention to experimental details.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Fmoc-based peptide synthesis.
- Knowledge of peptide coupling reagents and protecting-group chemistry.
- Experience with complex, long, or difficult peptide sequences.
- Knowledge of peptide modifications such as N-terminal/C-terminal modifications, labeling, stapling, lipidation, or non-natural amino acids.
- Experience with automated peptide synthesizers.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary R&D; team.
