Role Overview

We are looking for a React Native Mobile Developer to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality mobile applications for enterprise and consumer-facing products. The immediate assignment is a cloud-native Field Ops platform involving offline-first mobile workflows, field operations, geo-tagged evidence capture, data synchronization, API integrations, role-based workflows, and reliable operation in low- or no-connectivity environments.

The role is broader than a single project. The selected developer will be part of SourceFuse s application engineering practice and may be assigned to other client engagements over time. We are therefore looking for someone with strong React Native fundamentals, sound engineering practices, good product thinking, and the ability to learn and adapt to different domains and technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain high-performance, user-centric mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript for Android and iOS.
- Build robust mobile workflows for field users, including offline data capture, local persistence, synchronization, conflict handling, geo-tagging, photo/video evidence capture, and reliable recovery after connectivity or device interruptions.
- Work with backend and architecture teams to integrate REST and GraphQL APIs and handle authentication, authorization, error handling, retries, and secure data exchange.
- Implement scalable application architecture and state management using Redux or an appropriate modern state-management approach.
- Translate product requirements, user stories, UX designs, and functional specifications into maintainable production-ready mobile solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, UI/UX Designers, Backend Engineers, QA, Solution Architects, and DevOps engineers.
- Develop responsive and accessible mobile interfaces while following platform-specific Android and iOS design and usability guidelines.
- Implement mobile features involving maps, location services, camera and media capture, background processing, notifications, localization, and other device capabilities as required by the project.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and contribute to automated mobile test suites using tools such as Jest, Detox, Appium, or equivalent frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain clean, modular, testable, secure, and well-documented code.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and mobile build and release processes, including Android Gradle and iOS Xcode environments, signing, certificates, provisioning, and store releases.
- Contribute to observability by implementing appropriate application logging, crash reporting, monitoring, and diagnostics using tools such as Grafana, Sentry, Datadog, or equivalent platforms.
- Contribute to DevOps and developer-experience activities where required, including GitHub Actions, Docker, npm, ESLint, TypeScript configuration, and build tooling.
- Troubleshoot production and pre-production issues, identify root causes, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them within agreed timelines.

Technical Skills & Experience: Stay current with React Native, TypeScript, mobile engineering practices, security standards, testing approaches, and emerging engineering tools, including AI-assisted development practices used within SourceFuse.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in mobile application development, with strong hands-on experience in React Native.




- Strong proficiency in React Native and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of JavaScript and modern React concepts.
- Proven experience building and maintaining applications for both Android and iOS, including production deployment to Google Play and the Apple App Store.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, component design, navigation, lifecycle management, state management, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Redux or another scalable state-management solution.
- Strong experience with offline-first mobile application development, local data storage, synchronization, retry mechanisms, and handling intermittent connectivity.
- Experience integrating REST APIs. Exposure to GraphQL, including schema usage and maintainable API integration patterns, is preferred.
- Experience with authentication and authorization concepts, secure storage, token management, API security, and mobile application security best practices.
- Experience with native Android and iOS build environments, including Gradle and Xcode, certificates, provisioning, signing, and release management.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Detox, Appium, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows for mobile applications and familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Experience implementing device capabilities such as GPS/location services, maps, camera, photo/video capture, push notifications, and background processing.
- Experience with responsive UI development, accessibility, localization / internationalization , and platform-specific UX guidelines.
- Experience with application logging, crash reporting, monitoring, and observability tools such as Grafana, Sentry, Datadog, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of Git, npm, ESLint, TypeScript configuration, and modern frontend/mobile development tooling.
- Experience with Expo and EAS Build is preferred, but strong React Native experience with native build workflows is more important.
- Exposure to native modules or native Android/iOS development is a plus.
- Backend development experience with Node. js, Java, or another backend technology is a plus, particularly for engineers interested in becoming T-shaped.

Project-Specific Technical Exposure: The mobile developer should be comfortable working with requirements such as:
- Offline-first execution in low- or no-connectivity environments.
- Local data storage and reliable synchronization with backend services after connectivity is restored.
- Geo-tagged evidence capture and location-aware workflows.
- Photo and video capture as part of field workflows.
- Role-based workflows and approvals integrated with backend services.
- Integration with enterprise systems and APIs, including GIS and other operational platforms.
- Performance, reliability, security, and observability for production enterprise applications.
- Mobile workflows that must continue to function reliably despite network interruptions, application termination, or device power loss.

Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent practical experience in mobile application development may also be considered.
