- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience validating performance for large datasets, high-volume APIs and large payloads

Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Performance Test Engineer to design, automate and execute performance engineering for backend services and APIs supporting a large-scale enterprise platform.

The role will focus on API performance, scalability, throughput, concurrency, large-payload processing, volume testing and phased workload modelling. The engineer should be capable of translating expected production usage into realistic performance scenarios and validating how the system behaves as load and data volumes progressively increase.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and execute load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, capacity and volume testing for APIs and backend services.
- Build and maintain performance automation suites using Gatling and/or k6.
- Define phased performance scenarios based on expected business volumes and production usage patterns.
- Build workload models covering: Baseline / normal business load, Gradual ramp-up of users and transactions, Peak-hour and seasonal load, Sustained high-volume processing, Sudden traffic spikes, Progressive data-volume growth
- Define volume tiers and capacity scenarios such as current volume,



projected growth, peak volume and future-state scale.
- Develop reusable Python utilities for test-data generation, payload automation, workload generation and result analysis.
- Validate high-volume APIs, concurrent requests, bulk transactions, large JSON payloads and large datasets.
- Measure and analyze response time, percentile latency, throughput/TPS, concurrency, error rates, resource utilization and saturation points.
- Establish performance baselines, SLAs/SLOs and measurable acceptance thresholds.
- Identify bottlenecks related to slow queries, connection pools, CPU, memory, threads, network latency and downstream services.
- Perform performance tuning validation and regression testing after optimization.
- Integrate automated performance tests into CI/CD pipelines with performance gates.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Gatling and/or k6.
- Strong expertise in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
- Strong experience in REST API performance and backend testing.
- Strong programming and automation skills in Python.
- Experience with API test automation using REST Assured, Postman/Newman, Karate or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of workload modelling, phased load design,



volume modelling and capacity planning.
- Ability to translate business transaction volumes into realistic performance scenarios.
- Experience defining ramp-up, steady-state, peak, spike, soak and ramp-down phases.
- Experience designing scenarios for increasing data volumes and large payload sizes.
- Strong understanding of load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, capacity and performance regression testing.
- Good understanding of databases, SQL, backend services and distributed architectures.
- Ability to analyze results and identify root causes rather than only execute performance scripts.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD-based automated execution.

Preferred Skills

- Experience testing Java / Spring Boot microservices.
- Experience with AWS-based backend systems.
- Exposure to CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog or similar observability tools.
- Experience with database performance analysis and SQL tuning.
- Exposure to Kafka, asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with large-scale data-processing or MDM platforms.
