Quality Engineer – Sheet Metal & Pressed Components

Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer with experience in sheet-metal fabrication and pressed components. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining product and process quality from incoming material through final inspection and customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming, in-process and final inspection of sheet-metal and pressed components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T; .
- Inspect components manufactured through CNC punching, bending, power press, welding and fabrication .
- Carry out first-piece / first-off inspection and maintain inspection reports.
- Maintain Control Plans, Inspection Standards, calibration and quality records .
- Identify quality issues and drive RCA, CAPA and 8D .
- Work closely with Production and Tool Room teams to reduce rejection and rework.
- Handle customer complaints and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Support FAI, PPAP and new-part development where required.
- Prepare for and support customer audits , provide required records/evidence and drive closure of audit observations.
- Maintain ISO 9001 compliance and audit readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement in product and process quality.
Preferred: Experience with OEM/Tier-1 customers in electrical & electronics, automotive, industrial equipment, telecom, energy or similar manufacturing industries. Ideal Candidate A hands-on, self-driven Quality Engineer who can independently manage quality activities, solve manufacturing-related quality issues and work confidently with customers.
